Services | Scope Senior Services

Provide senior adults with daily recreational activities, educational events, lunch, socialization, and fitness programs. Supportive services division for Trumbull’s retired and elderly population provides social work and counseling, prescription assistance and Medicaid/Medicare counsel, emergency assistance program, and free income tax assistance through AARP during the months of February through April each year. Operate six senior centers: Cortland: 153 Grove St. Cortland, OH 44410; Hartville: 1244 Lauren Crest St. SE Hartville, OH 44632; Howland: 8273 High St. Warren, OH 44484; Newton Falls: 612 West Broad St. Newton Falls, OH; Niles: 14 East StateSt. Niles, OH 44446; Warren: 375 N. Park Ave. Warren, Ohio 44481.

Western Reserve Geriatric Education Center | Case Western Reserve University

Provides educational programming, training, and consultation about gerontology and geriatric issues to faculty, health care professionals and consumers throughout the State of Ohio in order to improve health care for older adults. The Center is a consortium of nationally recognized academic leaders in gerontology and geriatric medicine. In addition to CWRU School of Medicine, the consortium includes Bowling Green State University, Miami University, Ohio University of Osteopathic Medicine and Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Also makes available training modules/curriculum about a variety of topics related to aging, especially Alzheimer's disease.

Provides a directory of services for older adults called "Resource Guide for Older Adults and their Families". Jennings Speakers Bureau | Jennings Center For Older Adults

Provides speakers on issues related to caring for older adults. Sessions are approximately one hour, with 30 minutes dedicated to speaker time and 30 minutes for questions. Some commonly requested topics include the following: Demystifying Older Adult Services, Care and Communication of Those Living with Alzheimer's/Dementia, The Importance of Faith in Senior Care, and Adult Day Programs: Supporting In-home Caregivers and Introduction to the Sacred Art of Living and Dying.

Older Adult Care Coordination | Jewish Family Service Association Of Cleveland

Helps individuals and their families explore options and develop plans to care for older adults. Program helps to identify a loved one’s strengths, needs, concerns and preferences; to establish goals and implement a plan of care; to connect individuals to community resources and government benefit programs; to coordinate doctor appointments, transportation, and caregiver services. Services include counseling to help cope with issues associated with aging, such as changes in independence, health problems, dementia, death of a loved one, isolation, and family dynamics. Counseling is also available for coping with mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression.
