Supportive services division for Trumbull’s retired and elderly population provides social work and counseling, prescription assistance and Medicaid/Medicare counsel, emergency assistance program, and free income tax assistance through AARP during the months of February through April each year. Provides a directory of services for older adults called "Resource Guide for Older Adults and their Families". Information in the guide includes how to resolve consumer issues, applying for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, contacting mental health and crisis services, housing options for older adults, engaging legal and financial services, planning for long-term care, lifelong learning programs and more. Can also provide individual brochures and information on organizations that deal with specific aspects and health conditions of aging.

Provides a University-wide, interdisciplinary Center that offers numerous continuing education opportunities focusing on aging and health issues for professionals and the public. Programming includes workshops, conferences, and seminars throughout the year. All provide professional CEU's to health and social work practitioners. Also offers a graduate level certificate in Gerontology. The Center also participates collaboratively in Research efforts about Aging and Health with other University Departments/Schools. Also offers a certificate program in Gerontology.

Guardianship program for severely mentally disabled persons who are identified by the mental health/developmental disabled systems for services. All referrals must go through clinical issues meetings or the case manager supervisor.

Offers a membership association for older adults. Provides information and services. Services and information covered include caregiving, safety, housing, nutrition, legal issues and recreation. Lobbies and advocates on legislative, consumer and judicial matters that impact older adults.

Conducts applied research to develop and evaluate service programs for older adults. Provides licensure and training on evidence-based programs.

Provides educational programming, training, and consultation about gerontology and geriatric issues to faculty, health care professionals and consumers throughout the State of Ohio in order to improve health care for older adults. The Center is a consortium of nationally recognized academic leaders in gerontology and geriatric medicine. In addition to CWRU School of Medicine, the consortium includes Bowling Green State University, Miami University, Ohio University of Osteopathic Medicine and Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Also makes available training modules/curriculum about a variety of topics related to aging, especially Alzheimer's disease.

Also includes activities such as arts and crafts, yoga, beach volleyball, meditation, bingo, speakers on varied subjects, and monthly field trips.

Provides one-on-one information and assistance to aging adults and individuals with disabilities to help identify a wide variety of needs and preferences, and to access community resources, benefit programs and other available social, medical and residential services. Also helps ensure that individuals and their caregivers are aware of the various living options, care options, and supportive services available to them.

Provides information and referral about needed social services and will provide outreach services in the home for seniors and those who are shut-ins. Offers assistance with completing various forms including help with simple wills, living wills, Power of Attorney for Health Care, etc.

Provides speakers on topics related to health and safety to community groups of 10 or more. Has over 24 topics available. Presentations are typically an hour. Early requests strongly recommended.
