Program providing protections and benefits to military personnel and their families, can assist qualifying customers with maintaining utility service while serving on active duty. Under the plan, Ohio’s natural gas and electric utilities cannot disconnect the residential utility service of any military reservist or National Guardsman deployed on active duty for nonpayment. Upon return from active duty, utility companies must offer customers a period of time equal to the length of their deployment to pay any arrearages that may have accumulated. Additional time may be requested by a customer if the amount in arrearages presents a hardship. Utility companies are also prohibited from charging any late payment fees or interest to qualifying customers during the period of deployment or the repayment period. The Patriot Plan does not apply to career active-duty military personnel serving their regular tour of duty.

HOPWA assists Equitas Health clients and any HIV positive clients in paying rent, mortgage, electric, gas and water bills to prevent homelessness or interruption of utility service in an emergency situation. Case management services can include: budgeting, counseling, education, referrals to resources, advocacy, and transportation.

The program is for working poor households with minor children. Client may be eligible if for a domestic violence situation exists (must have minor child).

Includes Winter Crisis Program to prevent utility shutoffs, reconnect service, or replenish fuel supplies. Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) Plus to establish regular monthly utility payments for regulated utilities customers; and once-per-year Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) credits.

Loans may be available for homes with problems with a septic system or aerator. Through a grant from the Ohio EPA, Pickaway County Residents may quality for funding assistance to repair or replace their system if they have a household sewage treatment system that has failed, is failing or is in need of repair. To qualify for this assistance: - the home must be owner occupied (no rentals, new builds, or foreclosures) - the system must be documented as failed by PCGHD - the owner must be income eligible

Provides the winter heating crisis program to help income eligible Ohio residents meet the high costs of home heating. Eligible consumers receive financial assistance toward the payment of their heating bill and assistance with gas bills. Also has assistance available to assist with furnace repairs or replacements.

Bethel Hope offers emergency financial assistance for electric bills, on a case by case basis.

Helps those in need of monetary assistance with rent, utilities, prescriptions and emergency lodging (one night, two meals). Help is provided one time during the fiscal year of October 1st - September 30th per household.

Provides emergency gas bill payment assistance for those who qualify. Seeks to help clients avoid disconnection or to reconnect to service. Assistance is limited to $250 per year and will assist with the heating bill and reconnection fees. However, if fee to reconnect is more than $250, client will have to provide the balance of the payment before assistance will be given. Cannot be applied toward security deposits or bills that are not required to maintain service.

Provides assistance with payment of back rent, electric,gas, and water bills. Proves automobile fuel assistance for those who need to get to medical appointments by taking them to the gas station and filling their vehicle. Availability of assistance will vary as this service is dependant on donations and may not always be available. Does not help with mortgage payments. Does not help with security deposit or first month rent.

Provides assistance in a variety of ways to keep people from losing their jobs, assist people in getting jobs, and to help people in assuring a safe home environment.

Will provide limited temporary financial assistance to eligible families when funds are available.

Provides eligible Ohioans assistance paying an electric bill or assistance paying for central air conditioning repairs. The program runs from around July to September.

Provides aid to families in the form of a voucher to buy items or pay for services that are emergencies and non-recurring and which cannot be addressed using existing community resources. Provides assistance with utilities (water, gas, propane and electric payments, deposits, and reconnect fees), rent or mortgage payments (no rental deposits), and appliances (stoves and refrigerators only). Maximum amount of assistance given is at the agency's discretion. All approved clients will create a budget plan with a caseworker and are required to watch an hour-long video about financial literacy.

Assists with benefits counseling, claims assistance, filing forms/claims, and financial assistance.

Program provides assistance for gas bills (upon verification of disconnect notice). Caller may still receive assistance if utility is shut off. Program only provides assistance up to $100.00 on the bill. Caller must be able to prove the rest of the bill is covered and prove they can afford future payments.

The Home Energy Assistance Winter Crisis Program (HEAP Winter Crisis Program), assists eligible applicants who are facing disconnection, have been disconnected, or have less than 25% of bulk fuel in their tank with maintaining their gas service, from November 1st - March 31st only. The Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program will provide financial assistance and services to prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless and help those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed and stabilized. The funds under this program are intended to target individuals and families who would be homeless without this assistance. Every household assisted by this program is provided case management to help them identify needs, establish a safe living situation, and to create a plan that connects them to the resouces needed to help them maintain housing. Only help with utility assistance if they are in jeopardy of being evicted.
