MULTI-SYSTEM ADULT (MSA) PROGRAM | CENTERS FOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN - THE
Provides up to $8,000 financial assistance per individual to support eligible individuals in achieving successful long-term recovery. Assistance may be available for essential items such as rental costs, utilities, food, clothing, transportation, child care and other items as needed for recovery.

Prefers but does not require a referral from an applicant's case manager. Agency will assign staff to work with eligible applicants to fill out required paperwork. May call or e-mail for eligibility and information on how to apply.

Eligibility
Ages 18 and older who have been diagnosed with severe mental illnesses such as bi-polar condition or schizophrenia *have had two or more psychiatric hospitalizations in the past 12 months or *two or more Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) stays within the past 12 months (requires a mental health diagnosis that lead to hospitalization and a need for care for greater than 23 hours) or *one psychiatric hospitalization AND one CSU stay within the past 12 months or *involvement in an Outpatient Competency Restoration program or *are currently in jail and diagnosed with a significant mental illness and in need of supports upon release. * Must also be in need of or receiving services from at least one participating system: criminal justice involvement, developmental disabilities, aging (over age 65), homeless (includes those who are living doubled up with someone), or veterans. Once full amount is spent, can apply in a following year. * Applicants do not need to become clients of the agency.
