Multi-System Adult (MSA) Program | The Centers For Families And Children
Provides up to $8,000 financial assistance per individual to support eligible individuals in achieving successful long-term recovery. Assistance may be available for essential items such as rental costs, utilities, food, clothing, transportation, child care and other items as needed for recovery.

Application process
Prefers but does not require a referral from an applicant's case manager. Agency will assign staff to work with eligible applicants to fill out required paperwork. May call or e-mail for eligibility and information on how to apply.

Eligibility
Individuals 18 and older who have been diagnosed with a severe mental illnesses such as bi-polar disorder or schizophrenia. Individuals that have had two or more psychiatric hospitalizations or Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) stays in the past 12 months. ALL INDIVIDUALS require a mental health diagnosis that lead to some form of hospitalization (Care needs/stays over 23 hours). Individuals involved in Outpatient Competency Restoration Programs (currently incarcerated and diagnosed with a significant mental illness and in need of supports upon release) Once full amount is spent, can apply in a following year. Applicants do not need to become clients of the agency.
