Prc Utility Payment Assistance | Fairfield County Job And Family Services

If PRC funding is available, client can apply for assistance with utilities for families with a disconnection notice that are not eligible for HEAP/PIPP. *Assistance through the PRC program can be granted up to $2,000 in a 12-month period when funding allows. The PRC program is not a cash payment and not ongoing financial support.

HOPWA assists Equitas Health clients and any HIV positive clients in paying rent, mortgage, electric, gas and water bills to prevent homelessness or interruption of utility service in an emergency situation. Case management services can include: budgeting, counseling, education, referrals to resources, advocacy, and transportation.

Provides assistance with utilities (water, gas, propane and electric payments, deposits, and reconnect fees), rent or mortgage payments (no rental deposits), and appliances (stoves and refrigerators only). Maximum amount of assistance given is at the agency's discretion. All approved clients will create a budget plan with a caseworker and are required to watch an hour-long video about financial literacy.

Special Reconnect Order | Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission

The Winter Reconnect Order issued each year by the Public Utility Commission of Ohio (PUCO) has a new name. It is now the Special Reconnect Order (SRO). The SRO may be used once per utility (electric and natural gas) from Oct 13, 2025 through April 15, 2026 to reconnect or to avoid disconnection of investor-owned, PUCO-regulated utilities. The SRO allows customers to pay only $175, plus up to $36 for a reconnection fee (if applicable), of what they owe. Any remaining balance is put into a payment arrangement. There are no income restrictions, and the Order may also be used to establish or transfer service. If the SRO is used for both electric and natural gas at the same time, the $175 may be split between the two.

Miami Valley CAP will be processing PRC applications for MC-JFS. Our Family Assistance Division staff embraces the mission of relieving those fears and putting families on the road to self-sufficiency. We determine eligibility for several supports that help families through tough economic times. Program provides assistance to families in overcoming barriers to employment and achieving/maintaining self-sufficiency. Provides limited financial assistance for past due heating fuel, gas and electric. Client also may be eligible if unemployed and/or domestic violence situation exists. Payments are limited to the amount actually required to meet the presenting need (up to $400) per twelve consecutive month period of eligibility.
