Financial assistance to families with minor children to prevent their need for ongoing public assistance, retention of employment, or well being of the family. The PRC Assistance Group may be responsible for a co-payment toward requested services.

JOIN offers water payment assistance for those disconnected or with a disconnect notice year round by phone on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9 am-11:30 am. JOIN offers gas and electric payment assistance for those disconnected or with a disconnect notice from April 23 through November 1st by phone, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9 am-11:30 am. The amount is limited and each household can be served once every 18 months.

HEAP Winter Crisis Program offers yearly, one time only assistance to low-income families with heating bills. November 1 - March 31 only. One benefit in a program year is allowed.

Caring Connection can help with disconnect notices and deposits for Electric, Natural Gas, and Propane utilities, but also can refer for assistance from other programs and agencies.

Provides financial assistance for a variety of needs. Confidential home visits by members who conduct a financial review help determine need of the household such as rental assistance, utility assistance, prescription assistance. No assistance available for: security deposits, motel stays, telephone or cable bills, doctor or hospital bills, gas vouchers, clothing, or formula.

Provides low-income residents opportunity to set up reduced rate payment plans with their utility company.

HEAP provides eligible clients (175% Federal Poverty guidelines) a one-time utility payment. The Summer program runs from July 1 to September 30. The Summer Crisis program has age and disability eligibility criteria which may vary from year to year. PICCA's HEAP staff can provide additional information.

Assists with gas and electric service by setting up payment plans based on household income.

Responsible for the transport and treatment of wastewater generated by customers in the unincorporated areas of Mahoning County. This includes the following townships: Austintown, Beaver, Boardman, Coitsville, Canfield, Jackson, Milton, Poland Township, and Springfield. Service is also provided to the villages of Craig Beach, New Middletown, Poland and the City of Campbell.

Evaluates requests for bankruptcy assistance where applicant seeks protection from creditors in the following instances: threat of garnishment or wrongful garnishment, utility shut offs; driver's license suspension, denial of public housing application; income from Social Security or other governmental benefit is being offset due to arrearage of more than $2,000 on federal mortgage.

Provides assistance to qualified individuals and families. Intended to meet the local needs of families to overcome immediate barriers and help them become and stay self-supporting. Assistance available includes: Employment related expenses such as: -Vehicle repairs. - Driver's license fees (new or expired, does not include reinstatement). - Reimbursements for tools, equipment, uniforms, shoes/boots, and so forth. - Fingerprinting costs. - Gas vouchers for new employment (until receipt of first paycheck). Shelter/Housing expenses such as: - Rent or deposit for forestalling court-ordered evictions in rentals. - Bills to forestall utility shutoffs (gas, electric and water). - Fuel oil and propane purposes. - Emergency shelter due to fire, natural disaster, states of emergency, or domestic violence situations. Kinship assistance includes: - For a new kinship caregiver within six (6) months of a child moving into the home: Furniture and other items needs to care for children in the home. - Once a child(ren) has been with a kinship provider for more than six (6) months: There is an available reimbursement of child care costs up to four (4) months a year.

Helps as a last resort those in need with heating fuel payments. May not be immediate assistance.

Provides advice and other assistance in cases in which the utility company denies or disconnects service improperly. Advice or other assistance may also be available with billing disputes, establishment of payment plans, or explanation of programs for eligible consumers.

Provides a one-time payment per heating season (November 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026) for gas or electric utilities or toward the delivery of wood, propane, fuel oil or kerosene to a household. Dominion/Illuminating Co: up to $175 Painesville Power: up to $750 Heating Oil: one time delivery up to $1200 Coal/Wood: up to $650

For veterans, dependents of veterans, and survivors. Provides short-term financial assistance covering rent/mortgage, utilities, and food; dental and vision care; and other types of financial assistance on an as-needed basis. All funds are issued directly to the service provider. Can apply every 30 days.

Offers financial assistance to clients for heating assistance as funding is available.

Provides financial assistance up to $1,000 a year to eligible Veterans, spouses, dependant children and widows who have demonstrated a need. These benefits may include assistance with paying utility bills or the provision of food.

Summer Crisis Program provides a one-time benefit to eligible Ohioans with cooling assistance during the summer months. The program typically runs from July - August. This year, due to COVID-19, the program has been extended through September. The focus of the Summer Crisis Program is to provide bill payment assistance for persons 60 years of age and older or those with a certified medical condition.

For those who qualify, provides short-term housing, utilities assistance (rent, gas, electric and water) and transportation assistance for people living with HIV.
