Many of our clients come to us with virtually nothing - sometimes without even a shirt on their back or a toothbrush. To help rebuild their lives and begin developing self-esteem, we must start with the very basics. Program funding provides treatment services but there isn't "extra" funding to support the most basic of needs. Alvis House is challenged to keep up with the growing demand for our programs and services and do the best we can to provide every individual with a few basic items.
  • Hangers - Plastic or Metal
  • Casual clothing for women - all sizes (gently used), pants, tops, etc.
  • Women's shoes
  • Outerwear for men or women (hats, gloves, scarves, coats)
  • Items to be used to reward clients for accomplishing their goals, such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion (name brands like Bath & Body or Axe for Men are treasures to our clients), deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, nail polish, perfume, cologne, etc.
  • No longer used items such as exercise DVD's, modern books for men or women, magazines, electronic games, Wii, exercise equipment, yoga mats, kettle bells, etc. would be like GOLD to our clients.
  • Your time - to teach and exercise class, help a student working toward their GED, or practice interviewing skills , a variety of opportunities are available.
