Offers a comprehensive infant eye assessment within the first year of life as a free public health service by AOA member optometrists.

Individuals with disabilities can create an Independent Living Plan (ILP) which they direct in that they choose the goals they would like to accomplish and they are guided by employees who provide advice on how to achieve the stated goals.

Providing an after school enrichment program to empower young women through social and emotional support, leadership skills, academic success, and community engagement. Offers group and individual empowerment sessions to build confidence, gain new skills, and connect with others.

Operates as a public health initiative committed to reducing obesity and smoking in Lima and Allen County by promoting healthy eating, active living and a tobacco free lifestyle. Does not provide health services to individuals, but works with agencies and community stake holders to promote these goals and to provide education and best practices on these issues.

Provides one-on-one as well as group counseling sessions for people who want to purchase a home or who want to refinance their current mortgage. Will review and explain loan documents. Counseling is also available for people who have become delinquent on their mortgage payments or who fear they may become delinquent. This agency will work with lenders to negotiate payment arrangements.

Hosts a course that focuses on teaching children safe practices both at school and at home. Safety Town is a realistic, child-sized town designed to provide a complete hands-on safety education for children entering Kindergarten in the fall.

Provides grants to assist homeowners with home repairs. The following repairs may be eligible for the program: --Building envelope structural repairs, including the roof, floors, ceiling, walls and foundation; --Roofing repair and/or replacement; --Gutter repair and /or replacement as well as other moisture mitigation work; --Heating system repair and/or replacement; --Plumbing repair and/or replacement; --Septic system repair and/or replacement; --Electrical upgrades, repair or replacement; --Interior/exterior repairs and alterations to allow handicapped mobility and accessibility, such as kitchen and bathroom modifications, ramps, handrails, and grab bars. Repairs are provided by contractors hired by COAD.

Provides a food pantry for non-perishable goods and personal hygiene items. Also provides food vouchers for local grocery stores to purchase fresh food such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, and eggs.

Provides a naloxone kit to any community member. Naloxone is a prescribed nasal inhalant that reverses an opioid overdose. Kit includes 2 vials of medication, a small tip sheet on how to recognize an overdose, and where to access additional educational videos. Will receive instruction on how to recognize and respond to an overdose (as well as distinguish between different types of overdose) and how to administer intranasal Naloxone to reverse the opioid overdose. All training will be provided onsite or at a community partner location.
