The Red Cross provides shelter, food, health and mental health services to help families and entire communities get back on their feet. Although the Red Cross is not a government agency, it is an essential part of the response when disaster strikes. Works in partnership with other agencies and organizations that provide services to disaster victims.

Accepts volunteers to help with arts and cultural workshops, set up and tear down for special events. Also seeks teens to serve on the Teen Arts Council and parents to serve as Ambassadors.

Mental health, alcohol and drug crisis needs of youth ages 0-18, and their families are addressed at Netcare by Youth Crisis Services. Youth clinicians conduct a standardized risk assessment and work to stabilize youth at the least restrictive level of care. Crisis management and linkage with ongoing mental health or substance abuse service providers will occur when needed. This program is committed to the best available care of youth and families in crisis.

Provides free legal information, advice, and referral for residents of Ohio age 60 and over, regardless of income or resources

Prevents, investigates, and extinguishes fires.

Provides a monthly carry-out dinner.

Conducts a home inspection to identify safety and energy efficiency risks. Provides minor repairs or enhancements to homes based on inspection results, such as sealing drafts, adding insulation, repairing windows and doors, installing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and repairing or replacing heating equipment and water heaters.

Provides ICF/DD group home residential living for children and adults with developmental disabilities. All care needs are met, such as room and board, utilities, and medical needs.

On-site employment assistance for individuals and businesses. Includes access to Resource Room.

Advocates for people receiving home care (including meals and transportation services), assisted living and nursing home care. Works to resolve complaints about services, help people select a provider and offer information about benefits and consumer rights.

Program providing free books by mail to all children under the age of five regardless of income.

Two card types are available: compliant cards, which meet federal REAL ID requirements for air travel, and standard cards, which are not accepted for domestic air travel as of May 7, 2025. Individuals may not hold both a state identification card and a driver’s license. Cards are valid for eight years and expire on the holder’s birthday.

Includes Winter Crisis Program to prevent utility shutoffs, reconnect service, or replenish fuel supplies. Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) Plus to establish regular monthly utility payments for regulated utilities customers; and once-per-year Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) credits.

Administers state proficiency tests and various aptitude, achievement, and intelligence tests. Provides special remedial tutors for students needing extra help to successfully pass the state proficiency tests. Offers college exam preparation.

Provides Gynecology and Obstetric services. Offers to any Third Street OB/GYN patients free early gender reveal at 14 weeks. Also offers free pregnancy tests.

Provides mediation services for the court. Where deemed appropriate, civil cases filed in the General Division may be referred to mediation in an attempt to avoid the need for formal litigation. Mediations are conducted by court staff and trained community volunteers under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant of the Self Help Center and Dispute Resolution Department. Does not mediate criminal or domestic relations cases.

Provides a six hour Juvenile Driver Improvement Program, a juvenile remedial driver education program authorized by the State of Ohio's Department of Public Safety.

Helps income eligible Ohioans that are threatened with disconnection, have been disconnected, or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel in their tank maintain their utility service. The program can also assist with wood/pellets for clients with less than a 10-day supply.

Provides workshops and instruction in fine arts, dance, music, theatre, fencing, karate, yoga, and physical fitness.
