Assists low to moderate income homeowners with paying for repairs and rehabilitation on their homes. Depending on eligibility and the availability of funding, agency may be able to offer this program at no cost to the homeowner (usually if they are age 65 or older or a veteran). In some instances, a zero-interest loan with an affordable repayment schedule may be offered as well. Examples of the types of work that the program can help with are: painting, siding, roofing, doors, steps, wheelchair ramps, sub floors, carpeting, etc. Does not help with foundation. Most work is provided by volunteers, however some work may be provided by contractors. This is not an emergency service; the process can take 12-24 months (however, smaller jobs may be completed sooner).
