A 2-1-1 Community Resource Navigation Specialist will talk with the client; assess their situation; identify and explain potential resources within the local network of agencies, programs, and services available to help; and then work with the client to develop an individualized plan. Based on the client's particular need or situation, the Specialist may provide information about a range of services including food, shelter, health care, substance abuse, mental health, recreation and social activities. The Specialist will also attempt to provide extra guidance and problem-solving as needed, identifying potential barriers to accessing service and, if necessary, following up with the client to check on their progress.
