This program provides advocacy in various areas. Referrals to community programs in Franklin County; such as, general clothing provision, individual advocacy to community support groups, identification documents program, specialized information and referral services (specializing to help youth). Other services will be provided after reviewing an individual's situation on a case by case basis. We do not provide payment assistance, but only assistance to be referred to community programs.

Turning Point’s community education program stresses the importance of a violence-free society. Efforts include free public speaking to many clubs, church groups, civic organizations and college classes, and professional training to organizations such as hospitals, departments of job and family services, counseling centers, crisis hotlines, local law enforcement agencies and schools. Provides information and assistance to aging adults and individuals with disabilities to help them identify their needs and preferences, and access community resources, benefit programs and other available social, medical and residential services. Also helps ensure that individuals and their caregivers are aware of the various living options, care options, and supportive services available to them.

Provide environmental prevention strategies to the community of Mahoning County to reduce youth substance use, and adult misuse over time through a community coalition of key stakeholders. Sponsor prescriber training to address opioid misuse, disseminates literature via media, neighborhood canvassing to reduce youth use, establishes drug free zones throughout the community, facilitates Safe Home campaigns, sponsors and creates youth ambassadors who are champions in efforts to reduce peer substance use, monitors retail outlets for underage sales.

Assists persons with a developmental disability (DD) with service and support in order to reside in the community or with their families. Provides access to all applicable services and coordinated multi-services for citizens with DD, including educational, vocational, community, and residential services.

Offers information related to older adults and aging such as physical health, aging in place, fall prevention, caregiver support, financial well-being, and benefits and financial assistance programs.

Provide transportation called RideLink. A call center connecting individuals with safe, reliable, and affordable transportation to and from medical and non-medical appointments, a 24 hour notice is required for transportation needs. RideConnect is a volunteer driver program that can provide curb-to-curb rides for those who need alternatives to available public transit.

Acts as liaison to connect Muslim immigrants with area mosques and needed social services.
