By forming partnerships with local law enforcement and public safety organizations, Project Lifesaver deploys specially trained teams with the most reliable technology available to quickly locate and return wandering adults and children to their families and caregivers. Project Lifesaver relies on proven radio technology and a specially trained search and rescue team. Clients that are enrolled in the Project Lifesaver program wear a personalized wristband that emits a tracking signal. When caregivers notify the local Project Lifesaver agency that the person is missing, a search and rescue team responds to the wanderer's area and starts searching with the mobile locater tracking system. Search times have been reduced from hours and days to minutes. In over 1500 searches, there have been no reported serious injuries or deaths. Recovery times average less than 30 minutes. The system was designed to help individuals who have wandering tendencies such as those with autism, developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Community food pantry. Clients are allowed one grocery order per household once a month.

Assists hospital patients with social, psychological, and/or economic needs that arise during the patient's hospitalization.

Assists in developing a collaborative plan of action for multi-need children and adolescents upon referral. A child may be considered a multi-need child if he/she is involved or eligible for involvement with more than one FCF involved agency (BDD, Juvenile Court, mental health or substance abuse services, among others.) Secondary services such as peer support partners, respite care, intensive home-based services, in home support services may be available to children that are active in Service Coordination.

Provides training for people who want to volunteer to assist disaster victims. Topics covered include introduction to disaster, standard first aid, introduction to mass care, and shelter operations. Once training is complete, participants become part of the Disaster Action Team which is generally mobilized for local and domestic disasters (but not generally for international disasters).

Provides screening and evaluations for hearing, speech, and language, and audiological evaluations. Speech and language therapy, hearing evaluations, and hearing and speech aids vary per site.

Offers a class on how to help an adolescent (age 12 to 18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.

Offers diabetes education classes every month.

Offers a free HUD-approved home buyer education and pre-purchase counseling program. Participants must complete the eight hour education component and a 1-2 hour individual counseling session. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion.

The Habitat program is not a "quick fix" to an emergency housing problem. Most partnerships are 6-24 months or longer before families move into their homes. The Habitat partnership is a Hand UP, not a hand out. You will work for what you receive and Habitat will commit to helping you succeed by providing opportunity for a positive future for you and your family. Most of Habitat's homeowners have experienced positive impact in areas of finance, education, health, safety and stability due to the affordability of their Habitat homes, along with a sense of belonging in their communities. TAC is a youth-led prevention team of high school students who focus on preventing unhealthy behaviors among Knox County youth before they begin while serving as ambassadors of healthy lifestyles in their schools and communities.
