Provides transitioning active duty service members training in how to start and grow a business. Offers a 2 day Introduction to Entrepreneurship workshop taught at a local military instillation which will provide an education on business fundamentals and an analysis on the feasibility and sustainability of the service member's business concept. Also offers an 8 week Foundations of Entrepreneurship course taught online via the University of Syracuse in which the service member will learn the fundamentals of developing a business plan.

Contacts deployed military personnel on behalf of families experiencing an event which requires an urgent communication such as a death, illness, or birth of a child. Assists with emergency leave verification and basic information and referral. Provides access to emergency funds available through the various military aid societies (Army Emergency Relief, Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, Air Force Aid Society, and the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance). Assists with acquiring funds which can be used for a variety of purposes such as burial of a loved one, emergency travel, and emergency food and shelter. NOTE: Assistance may come in the form of a loan or grant.

Maintains information about community resources that are appropriate for military personnel and their families who are transitioning back to civilian life.

Offers a food pantry for individuals and families in need. Also provides personal care products.

Equipment includes visual-enhancement devices, software programs for those who cannot type, specialized wheelchairs for those who are unable to ambulate and water softener systems for those with catastrophic burns.

Provides a wide range of information and referral services for families and personnel in any branch of the United States military. Offers emotional support, information, and guidance for Veterans who have emotional problems relating to experiences they had while in the service or who have separated from the military and are having difficulty adjusting to their civilian status. Provides free access to an online tax filing service.

Provides veterans and military members' families with holiday gifts. Eligible families matched with sponsors will receive gift(s) with a total value between $50.00-$75.00 per registered child and a grocery gift card to assist with a holiday meal with a total value between $75.00 -$125.00.

Offers general mental health counseling and for specific issues: sexual trauma counseling related to military service (military sexual assault), post traumatic stress disorder due to combat service, veteran reintegration counseling, couseling for victims of spousal/partner abuse, and bereavement couseling. Counseling may be offered in individual and group settings. Does not deal with legal issues.

Provides financial assistance for combat wounded, critically ill, and injured service members and their families during hospitalization and recovery. Assistance includes: - Bedside Financial Support: offers needs-based financial assistance for expenses that are most pressing during a long hospitalization or rehabilitation. Covers expenses such as additional travel/lodging expenses, childcare and out of pocket expenses. - Housing Assistance: provides adaptive housing for wheelchairs and helps those who have fallen behind on housing payments due to injury. - Transportation Assistance: offers adaptive modes of transportation including modified wheelchairs, lift ramps, vehicles and snow removal equipment.

Provides access to financial assistance for military families in emergency situations. Evaluates the need for assistance on a case-by-case basis. Funds can be used for food, rent, utilities, and other emergency needs. Funds are grants or loans through the Military Relief Aid Society.

Offers individual and family counseling.

Provides financial assistance to low-income active United States military personnel (all branches of service) currently deployed overseas and to low-income post 9/11 Veterans with a wound, illness or injury received in the line of duty (LOD). Accepted reasons for financial assistance include mortgage assistance, rent assistance, home repairs, utility assistance, auto repairs, auto payments, travel and transportation, moving assistance, essential home items (mattresses and box springs and appliances such as washer, dryer, refrigerator, and stove), medical expense assistance, emergency dental assistance, critical baby items, and other financial assistance. Offers emergency financial assistance for critical baby items, food, and vision care to active duty service member with rank of rank E1-E6 with DEERS-eligible dependents. Note: Does NOT provide financial assistance for credit card debt or personal loans and does NOT assist with down payments for vehicles or homes.

Provides an experiential habilitation or therapy program in which the horse serves as a co-facilitator or co-therapist. Equestrian therapy provides an experience with horses that fosters growth, communication skills, self-esteem, self-awareness, healing, and personal transformation. Clients learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with the horses and then discussing feelings, behaviors, and patterns. Services are provided on a 20-acre horse farm. The program is provided in partnership with Walsh University and area Rotary clubs.

Provides volunteer attorneys that offer legal assistance to personnel of the armed forces who are enlisted in the reserves or National Guard and are currently activated, or are on active duty. Assists enlisted personnel and their families in exercising their rights under the Soldiers' and Sailors Civil Relief Act. Also, will provide legal assistance for wills, powers of attorney, living wills, and durable power of attorney for health care. Will not assist with legal matters such as divorce and child custody (does not represent in court).

Assists veterans in a variety of ways. Provides food and clothing vouchers in emergency situations. In certain circumstances, provides assistance with paying for rent, rent deposit, mobile home lot rental fees, and utility payments (gas, electric, and water). Will help with transportation expenses (which is usually in the form of bus passes). Does not help with property taxes, car insurance, or car payments. Will consider other emergency needs that veterans and their eligible dependents may have on a case-by-case basis.

Provides some free legal services for military personnel and their families. Assists service members with exercising rights under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, drafting wills and delegating power of attorney.

Provides for expenses not covered by other benefits. Expenses include books, fees, and training needed to pursue educational opportunities and/or start a new career.
