Provides volunteer attorneys that offer legal assistance to personnel of the armed forces who are enlisted in the reserves or National Guard and are currently activated, or are on active duty. Assists enlisted personnel and their families in exercising their rights under the Soldiers' and Sailors Civil Relief Act. Also, will provide legal assistance for wills, powers of attorney, living wills, and durable power of attorney for health care. Will not assist with legal matters such as divorce and child custody (does not represent in court).

Offers general mental health counseling and for specific issues: sexual trauma counseling related to military service (military sexual assault), post traumatic stress disorder due to combat service, veteran reintegration counseling, couseling for victims of spousal/partner abuse, and bereavement couseling. Offers active military members and veterans an Armed Forces designation stamp for their Ohio driver's license and/or ID cards. Stamp provides proof of present or past military service. Stamp may be honored by Ohio merchants who give active military members and/or veterans a discount. Businesses that honor the Armed Forces stamp do so voluntarily and choose the savings they offer.

Offers consultations on a number of issues such as spouse education and career opportunities, issues specific to families with a member with special needs, health coaching, financial support and resources. Also offers non-medical counseling services requiring short-term attention, including everyday stressors, deployment and reintegration concerns, parenting, grief and loss, and marital problems as well as assistance with financial management, taxes, career services and health and wellness.

Provides financial assistance to low-income active United States military personnel (all branches of service) currently deployed overseas and to low-income post 9/11 Veterans with a wound, illness, or injury received in the line of duty (LOD). Accepted reasons for financial assistance include mortgage assistance, rent assistance, home repairs, utility assistance, auto payments, travel and transportation, moving assistance, essential home items (appliances such as washer, dryer, refrigerator, and stove), medical expense assistance, emergency dental assistance, critical baby items, and other financial assistance. Offers emergency financial assistance for food and vision care (for dependents) to active duty service member with rank of rank E1-E6 with DEERS-eligible dependents. Note: Does NOT provide financial assistance for credit card debt or personal loans and does NOT assist with down payments for vehicles or homes.

The five (5) main components of the program are: - Education: Many Local BBBs on and around military installations teach financial readiness classes to service members. - Outreach: BBB staff attend and support community fairs, conferences and other events, speaking with service members and distributing information. - Information: BBB website provides a one-stop shop for articles, links and consumer alerts for each branch of service. The website, Facebook page and X/Twitter have a resources page with consumer guides written for military members. Provides the free app, "Military & Money", which features educational resources and tools to help users make informed decisions about money. - Data Collection: Analyzes BBB data to help identify the threats and needs of the military community in the marketplace. - Complaint and Dispute Resolution: Filing a complaint with BBB helps military consumers resolve disputes and alert the BBB to issues affecting the military community at large.

Offers mortgage-free homes to active military and veteran families donated to Operation Homefront. Homes were previous bank owned homes. Provides case management with personal financial counseling to recipient families for up to two (2) years after moving into the home to ensure financial stability.

Provides veterans and military members' families with holiday gifts. Eligible families matched with sponsors will receive gift(s) with a total value between $50.00-$75.00 per registered child and a grocery gift card to assist with a holiday meal with a total value between $75.00 -$125.00.

Provides equipment to improve quality of life and independence for Service members with disabilities. Equipment includes visual-enhancement devices, software programs for those who cannot type, specialized wheelchairs for those who are unable to ambulate and water softener systems for those with catastrophic burns.

Provides financial assistance for combat wounded, critically ill, and injured service members and their families during hospitalization and recovery. Assistance includes: - Bedside Financial Support: offers needs-based financial assistance for expenses that are most pressing during a long hospitalization or rehabilitation. Covers expenses such as additional travel/lodging expenses, childcare, and out of pocket expenses. - Housing Assistance: provides adaptive housing for wheelchairs and helps those who have fallen behind on housing payments due to injury. - Transportation Assistance: offers adaptive modes of transportation including modified wheelchairs, lift ramps, vehicles, and snow removal equipment.
