Provides two kits designed to introduce safety around moving vehicles in parking lots and to intervene in wandering behavior typical of autistic children. Kit usually includes door and window alarms, an ID bracelet, visual stop signs and a guide on what to do about wandering behavior. Parking lot safety kit includes parent/caregiver safety guide and vehicle magnet to remind children how to be safe in parking lots.

Provides limited funding assistance for necessary incidental treatment-related services, programs and equipment not covered by insurance, government agencies or other resources to families residing in Northeast Ohio who have children and/or adults with a life-long disability attributed to developmental and/or intellectual impairments. Funds expenses such as respite care, therapies, therapeutic camps, some medical expenses, assistive/adaptive equipment, and communicative devices. NOTE: Does not provide financial assistance for rent, other living expenses, or any modifications done to home, property, or vehicles.

Special Elves from the Autism Society of Greater Akron will be on hand to greet participants when they arrive and to provide crafts and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Provides Autism Scholarship Program (ASP) funds to reimburse parents of children with autism for special educational services from private providers approved by the state that can fulfill a child's Individual Education Plan (IEP's). Since these funds replace monies paid by the state to the school district of residence, when a family accepts this voucher, they can no longer get these services from their school district. Funds may or may not cover the complete cost of services from a particular provider. Parents may use more than one provider as long as the amount requested does not exceed $27,000 in an academic year.

Provides a federally-funded child development and family support program that provides early education, health, mental health, nutrition, and social services to families with children from birth to age 5 with disabilities (including speech or language delays, physical disabilities, health impairments, autism, and other developmental delays). Partners with local school districts, Help Me Grow, and other service providers to offer speech therapy, mental health services, screening and evaluations, and transportation to and from services.
