Provides a calm and welcoming environment for children with special needs and their families to visit the Easter Bunny. Special helpers from the Autism Society of Greater Akron will be on hand to greet participants when they arrive and to provide crafts and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Light refreshments will be served.

Our program consists of two classrooms offering instructional options, from one-to-one intensive instruction to large group instruction and learning activities with typical peers.

Provides 5-week summer tutoring services with emphasis in math and reading as well as speech therapy. A separate 5-week program covering the same topics is available for students with autism.

Provides educational programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities as an alternative to traditional education. Also offers home-based programs.

Offers a monthly support group for parents and professionals working with school aged children and a monthly support group for adults affected by Asperger Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, Pervasive Development Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (PDD/NOS) and other spectrum disorders. Other activities offered throughout the year for both groups.

Provides two kits designed to introduce safety around moving vehicles in parking lots and to intervene in wandering behavior typical of autistic children. Kit usually includes door and window alarms, an ID bracelet, visual stop signs and a guide on what to do about wandering behavior. Parking lot safety kit includes parent/caregiver safety guide and vehicle magnet to remind children how to be safe in parking lots.

Provides funding for sensory items and various equipment for children with autism.

Provides education, resources and support for people with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities as well as their families.

Provides legal aid services for assisting individuals on the spectrum with inquiries, counseling, planning, reviews, benefits account setup, and more.

Offers a variety of Autism Spectrum disorder information and referral services for individuals and families through their website or by phone.

Provides public education through webinars, conferences, inclusion/resource fairs, and public speaking engagements to create awareness that leads to opportunities for the autistic community.

Provides a space to give autistic children opportunities for fun and socialization on the weekends.

Has classes for children with Learning Needs: 1. Parent powered, student first mentality 2. Serving children ages five-12 in settings based on individual needs 3. Low student/teacher ratio, small group and 1:1 instruction 4. Individualized learning plan and schedule, meeting their educational needs.

Provides information and education about the symptoms, screening/diagnostic procedures and methods of treatment or management for Autism. Help Line is staffed by a Licensed Social Worker/Support Specialist who connects individuals and their families to information, services, and community resources.

Maintains information about community resources that are appropriate for people with Autism and their families. Provides information on trainings/events within an hour of Akron, newsworthy items, articles, and so forth by email.

Offers a variety of counseling and support services for children diagnosed with Autism and their families. Services include individual counseling, family counseling and social skills development.

Provides one-on-one support and education, educational seminars, parent training workshops, specialized information and referral, family events, parent resource library with Boardmaker program, and presentations and training for professionals and groups.

Provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care focusing on evidence based treatment, education, research and advocacy for children with the diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Treatment addresses the common delays in language and communication, socialization, and repetitive and ritualistic behaviors. Also offers a free support group for caregivers of individuals with autism.

Hosts a 5-day bike camp that teaches individuals ages 8 to adults with different ability levels to ride a two-wheel conventional bicycle independently.

Caring Santa provides a calm and welcoming environment for children with special needs and their families to visit Santa. Light refreshments will be served.

Provides a guide of information about local services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder.

Provides information about the symptoms, screening/diagnostic procedures, and methods of treatment or management for Autism.

Offers a water safety program in conjunction with the Akron Area YMCA. Provides one-on-one instruction for water safety geared to participants with developmental delays. Prioritizes learning safety over swimming techniques. Sessions are held in a classroom setting and in the pool.

Offers support groups for parents of children with autism who come together for educational and social purposes as well as for mutual support.

Provides behavioral health services and therapies. All methods of treatment and instruction are research and evidence-based. Services offered at Silver Lining ABA: Center-Based Programs/Outpatient Services, Assessment, Diagnostic and Referral Services, Outreach Services, Summer Programs, Adolescent and Adult Services. * Services are certified by the State of Ohio and are nationally accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
