Caring Santa provides a calm and welcoming environment for children with special needs and their families to visit Santa. Special Elves from the Autism Society of Greater Akron will be on hand to greet participants when they arrive and to provide crafts and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Provides Autism Scholarship Program (ASP) funds to reimburse parents of children with autism for special educational services from private providers approved by the state that can fulfill a child's Individual Education Plan (IEP's). Since these funds replace monies paid by the state to the school district of residence, when a family accepts this voucher, they can no longer get these services from their school district. Funds may or may not cover the complete cost of services from a particular provider. Parents may use more than one provider as long as the amount requested does not exceed $27,000 in an academic year.

Funds expenses such as respite care, therapies, therapeutic camps, some medical expenses, assistive/adaptive equipment, and communicative devices. NOTE: Does not provide financial assistance for rent, other living expenses, or any modifications done to home, property, or vehicles.
