With homestead, eligible homeowners receive an exemption on a portion of appraised value from taxation for a single family home. Eligible military Veterans receive an additional exemption. Will answer questions and assist with completing forms regarding the reduction.

Respite Care is provided by USS paid staff to offer occasional relief for caregivers who have full time care of an older adult. Caregiver may leave premises or simply remain at the home but pursue other activities.

State discount card is automatically available from the State of Ohio to those over the age of 60 or permanently disabled. USS cannot issue a new Buckeye card but can assist with replacing a lost or stolen card.

Links older adults who need assistance with local and state area agencies on aging and community based organizations. Assistance is available by phone, text, online chat, or email.

Individuals 60+ may be eligile for a free commodity (food) box once a month.

Types of home repairs include repairs for furnaces, leaking roofs, wheel chair ramps, bathroom accessibility modifications, and other necessary home repairs.

Offers 10% discount on city power consumption charges to income-eligible older adults.
