Offers older adults programming including group exercise classes and aquatic programs that concentrate on mobility and flexibility, dance programs, educational programs, social events, day and overnight trips and volunteer activities.

Provides respite care for older adults.

Provides fire department and EMS ambulance transport. Will come out and check homes for carbon monoxide gas. Does not provide detectors, but will install a homeowner's unit free of charge. Administers the Senior Citizen Smoke Detector Program, installing a free, new smoke detector for seniors age 62 and older. Will also return to replace batteries and make sure all detectors are working. Non-emergency activities include fire safety demonstrations and fire code inspections of public buildings. Also provides green reflective house number signs, free of charge, to all Springfield Township/Ontario residents.

Provides hot, nutritionally balanced meals and an opportunity to socialize with others. Offers meals on-site at some locations, and to-go at others.

Provides medical transportation demand response service.

Providing up to eight (8) vouchers per month to eligible older adults to use at participating restaurants.

Provides information and referral assistance to both individuals with disabilities and older adults. Intake staff assist callers with questions and link individuals with long term services and supports.

Provides services to help older adults live independently. Coordinates community services. Assesses client needs for homemakers, transportation, home delivered meals, socialization, and other assistance.

Facilitates access to services, programs, and benefits for seniors and caregivers. Provides insurance counseling to Medicare and Medicaid.

Provides continuing care retirement community consisting of two apartment high rises,75 condominium-style housing units and 154 Brownstone units in a supportive independent living environment.

Provides short term case management services that include consultation, evaluation and planning a course of action for older adults. Offers options and makes recommendations for care. Works with the client and his or her family members, physicians, and other professionals such as attorneys. Service includes explaining what is available, discussing eligibility requirements and financial resources required, determining needs and wishes of clients, and helping to arrange services.

Seven-story independent living apartment homes feature 69 one-bedroom units and 17 two-bedroom units. Each unit includes a living room, bedroom(s), kitchen, bathroom and closet space. Pet-friendly building allowing cats and dogs (some restrictions may apply). Service coordination, for things like transportation, meal delivery or scheduling of appointments, is available to all residents

Assists in completing and / or submitting a wide variety of forms for programs offered to qualifying seniors including HEAP, Homestead Exemption, Golden Buckeye Card, Jobs and Family Services, Metropolitan Housing Authority, and Living Will/Durable Power of Attorney forms.

State discount card is automatically available from the State of Ohio to those over the age of 60 or permanently disabled. USS cannot issue a new Buckeye card but can assist with replacing a lost or stolen card.

Provides informational guides about financial decisions that affect retirement, whether early stages of retirement planning or looking for ways to grow retirement savings.

Offers privately owned housing that is made available to low-income older adults at reduced rates based on a contract with HUD.

Offers minor home repair and modifications to provide a safe and accessible home environment to persons 60 and older. If your income is at or below the monthly income levels, you may qualify. Types of home repairs include repairs for furnaces, leaking roofs, wheel chair ramps, bathroom accessibility modifications, and other necessary home repairs.

Offers free tax preparation assistance and electronic filing for low- to moderate-income households. Specially trained volunteers from the AARP prepare basic returns to assist older adults.

Offers general health evaluations and examinations. Services included screening tests, nutrition education, counseling and health and fitness education.

Provides services if enrolled in their programs, a case manager helps ensure an individuals needs are met with home and community based services. These services are delivered through various case management programs and through a network of providers and may include but not be limited to help with personal care, housekeeping, preparing or receiving home delivered meals, transportation, adult day care and home medical equipment.
