Provides language development support as well that helps children going into school with hearing loss receive support and achieve fluency in American Sign Language

Matches volunteers who are breast cancer survivors with newly diagnosed or pre-diagnosis patients who are comparable in age, cancer type and extent, treatment plan, etc. The volunteer makes an initial phone contact and provides literature, exercise information, and other support.
Children are matched with adult volunteers for a mentoring relationship that lasts for one year or longer. Mentors and Mentees can be found in as many places as their mutual interests take them: soccer fields, fairs, libraries, theaters, kitchens, and backyards. Young and older have fun while forming a strong relationship that leads to positive outcomes for the child. Our Mentees: - 5-17 years old - Residing in Southeast Ohio, especially Athens, Meigs, Monroe, Vinton or Washington Counties - Referred to Southeast Ohio Youth Mentoring (SEOYM) by a school employee, social worker, or a parent/guardian - Eager to spend 1-2 hours a week with a Mentor - Have the full support of the parent/guardian to participate in the program Our Mentors: - Complete a thorough background check, an interview with a staff member, a home visit, and training - Are 19 years of age or older - Have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance - Spend a minimum of 1-2 hours a week for one year (usually longer!) with a child - Are committed to being a role model for children who grow up in our community.

The FSS program is designed to provide families with support and guidance to gain or maintain financial independence. FSS is an opportunity for you to improve your personal financial situation FSS will put cash into a special savings account (called an escrow account) to reward you if you increase earned income and successfully complete the program. As your earned income increases, so does the amount that FSS deposits into the escrow account for you each month. FSS clients have earned upon completion amounts ranging from $500 to $12,000. FSS provides case management support to help participants achieve goals related to employment, education, finances or even home ownership. Your FSS Case Manager will work with you and your family to set short and long-term goals. We will identify together steps to take to achieve those goals. Your Case Manager will provide you with the guidance, resources and support you need to move forward towards self-sufficiency.
Provides opportunities for high school students and adults to mentor to children from grades Kindergarten to 8th, and provide friendship, homework support, and social emotional learning activities. This program takes place at the Little's school site.
Connects individuals actively reentering society with resources and information that can improve their quality of life, assist with adjustment and help them become gainfully employed, as well as equip professionals with tools that promote positive outcomes. Also provides supportive and case management services.

Ex-Offender Reentry Programs
Provides an "intentional friendship" program that matches adults recovering from mental illness with volunteers who offer support and friendship. Support is offered through face-to-face contacts and/or by phone. Matches adult volunteers who do not have a mental illness with severely mentally ill clients. Participants and volunteers also take part in social-recreational group activities, health and wellness activities, and general socialization for the purpose of friendship.

There are 2 different mentoring programs available: High School Bigs Program and Community Based Mentoring. Located in the Friendly House Community Center. There is a mail box in the main office at Friendly House so information can be left. Please call before coming as they are frequently out of the office with appointments.
Provides a free IOS/Android app that connects people with substance use disorder. It instantly connects people to a global sober community in their neighborhood and around the globe. It allows people to build strong sober support networks and inspire others. Sober rid also offers 24/7 certified peer coaches to assist individuals in there recovery. Our peer coaches are trained and certified to help people get sober and stay sober.

Trains and equips mentors and matches them with teenagers who want a mentor. Helps facilitate a healthy mentoring relationship between the mentor and mentee that can last beyond graduation.
Adult volunteers work with a child for one hour per week at lunch in a school setting. Adult helps the child with social development and academics. Goal is to show the child that the adult is there for them.
Provides home visits to those who are homebound or in nursing homes or hospitals.

Volunteer Opportunities
Provides information, education, and advocacy to health care providers and the general public around the issue of twin to twin transfusion syndrome, including forms of TTTS called TAPS (twin anemia polycythemia sequence), SIUGR (selective intrauterine growth restriction) and TRAP (twin reversed arterial perfusion sequence). Materials include phone and social media resources for families diagnosed, at risk and those that have delivered special needs children as a result of TTTS.
