The Clothes That Work education program includes a series of classes and workshops designed to equip both job seekers and newly employed with the knowledge and skills that lead to personal growth and employment success. Curriculum was created by a team of area professionals who specialize in workforce development and education.

Works with clients and employers to help those wanting to increase their job-finding skills or to find additional work. Staff will help the client look for a job but do not directly provide jobs. Service includes job readiness activities such as resume writing, interviewing skills and techniques, networking, being organized, review of job keeping skills and professional development. Can help with removing barriers such as identification or birth certificate replacement (secondary to becoming a client). Maintains lists of upcoming career fairs. Employers frequently address the group.

Provides one-on-one financial coaching and counseling, group-based and individual financial education services, group-based and individual job readiness training, soft-skills development, financial education and referrals, and access to public benefits applications.

Provides a program to help recently-discharged veterans make a successful transition from military life to civilian life. The program is peer-guided in connecting transitioning service members to community-specific resources at their desired location. While being involved in this program veterans are able to request monetary assistance with housing, utilities, food, and clothing.

CCMEP provides employment and training services to eligible, low-income individuals based on a comprehensive assessment of employment and training needs, as well as a basic skills assessment. Participants are provided services to support goals outlined in their individual opportunity plan, which may include support to obtain a high school diploma, job placement, work experience, and other supportive services such as child care and transportation. Individuals participating in CCMEP are required to commit to participating in activities outlined in their individual opportunity plan for a minimum of 20 hours per week. CCMEP case managers are required to engage with participants at least every 30 days, or if a participant is receiving intensive case management, at least every 14 days.

Provides a job readiness program for those who are deaf and/or hard of hearing. Program occurs in 3 stages in which the client will learn basic skills to obtain a job and retain said job. Will learn resume writing as well as interview skills and the final stage can lead to job placement.

Offers activities to help students experience manufacturing directly while having fun. Activities include participating in plant tours, job shadows, and paid work experiences. Students also learn skills essential to the workplace and life skills.

Provide summer feeding program; family assistance including food, clothing, referrals; job training for early teens; teen pre-employment/ job training; FAX and copying. After school program provides homework time, reading/math incentive program, crafts, games, Bible study, hot meals, and trips.

Provides a one stop job center to individuals seeking employment. Services provided are: career counseling, resume writing, applications for Miami Valley and Preble County employers, career information, and limited training.

Offers independent housing to individuals experiencing the disabling effects of a serious mental or psychological problem. HUD subsidized, 19 efficiency apartments.

Education, training and necessary support services to help customers obtain unsubsidized employment.

Specializes in Treatment, Family and Juvenile Sex Offender Foster Care and offers community based mental health services. Mental Health services include: mental health assessment, Therapeutic Behavior Support and counseling for children, adolescents and adults offered in the home, office or community. Programs include: Transitional Aged Youth services, Applied Behavior Analysis for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, School Prevention and School Social Worker Programs, Peer Support, Social Skills Group and Parent Support Group, Triple P, Respite, MultiSystemic Therapy, Juvenile Sex Offender Counseling, Hi-Fidelity Wraparound, Bridges for foster care.

Assist youth in obtaining employment by offering a number of job readiness skills. Participants learn resume writing, job research, networking, interviewing, and communication skills. Each student receives personalized instruction and will have access to one-on-one mentoring with a job coach.

Career Exploration Specialized program to assist clients in identifying vocational assets, aptitudes, interests, and potential barriers to employment. This program may include testing, community based assessments, labor market information, and occupational information. COMMUNITY BASED ASSESSMENT : Provides clients an opportunity to sample a particular job of interest. Evaluations assess the client’s capabilities, if the goal is realistic, and whether training should continue in the chosen career path. This allows clients to experience several job sites, each lasting only a few days. JOB COACHING: One-on-one assistance for clients involved in training programs who may need intensive training and/or require a specialized training approach. Coaching can assist in learning job duties, quantity/quality of work standards, work place communication, interpersonal skills, and appropriate work behaviors. JOB SEEKING SKILLS TRAINING (JSST): Designed to assist an individual in successfully identifying and responding to potential job opportunities. The service addresses locating job opportunities, interviewing skills, and developing a job application/resume/cover letter. Learn how to follow up with employers, address potential barriers, and manage online profiles. JOB DEVELOPMENT : Assists clients in learning the skills necessary to access employment opportunities and obtain employment. This includes instruction and assistance in resume development, job applications, proper work attitude, grooming/hygiene, interpersonal skills, and interviewing skills. JOB RETENTION: Working with clients and employers to problem solve and remove any barriers to job retention. Involves follow-up phone calls and/or visits to the job site as determined by the referring counselor, Career Services Specialist, and/or the client. Specialists work closely with the client, employer, and co-workers to support the client in removing barriers to job retention. Personal Adjustment Teaches behavior skills, interpersonal skills, life management skills, and career skills. Includes training in customer service, building successful relationships, self-confidence, family dynamics, transportation issues, housing, productivity, and emphasizes gaining a sense of control over the client’s environment. Each area has its own curriculum and workbook. OCCUPATIONAL SKILL TRAINING: Specialized curriculums for job specific training to employer specifications; including safety practices, workplace literacy, and numeric skills specific to the occupation. SUPPORTIVE CAREER SERVICES: Services may include such tasks as: assisting the consumer purchasing appropriate work clothing, purchasing gas cards and/or transportation vouchers, and assisting consumer access to other community resources. TRAVEL TRAINING: Utilized to teach individuals how to travel independently on public transportation. Instruction will include: learning how to schedule transportation requests with transportation providers, reading bus schedules, purchasing tokens/bus passes, training on the public transportation rules, demonstrating how to ride public transportation and contingency planning in the event of an emergency or unexpected issue such as missing a bus, getting off at the wrong stop, etc. WORK ADJUSTMENT : Specialized training in obtaining work behaviors necessary to gain and maintain employment in the community. Program includes proper work habits, social skills, quantity/quality of work, hygiene, acceptance of supervision, and safety awareness.
