Offering a series of career-focused trainings presented by Ohio Means Jobs. All workshops will be held in 2024 and offer refreshments.
CCMEP provides employment and training services to eligible, low-income individuals based on a comprehensive assessment of employment and training needs, as well as a basic skills assessment. Participants are provided services to support goals outlined in their individual opportunity plan, which may include support to obtain a high school diploma, job placement, work experience, and other supportive services such as child care and transportation. Individuals participating in CCMEP are required to commit to participating in activities outlined in their individual opportunity plan for a minimum of 20 hours per week. CCMEP case managers are required to engage with participants at least every 30 days, or if a participant is receiving intensive case management, at least every 14 days.

Provides help developing skills that lead to successfully getting and keeping a job. Job interviewing, professional appearance, use of computers in job searching, skills needed to keep a job are all covered.
Provides support to those navigating the refugee/immigration process such as helping clients with filling out and submitting documents related to their refugee status and/or immigration case (such as applying for green cards, various immigration papers, and/or travel documents). Gives advice on test preparation, what to expect during the process, and what questions to expect during interviews with government officials. Provides basic information on how to prepare for obtaining employment (filling out applications, what to wear, how to handle job interviews). Provides translation assiatnce (English to Somali). Does not give legal advice (but will refer the client to the appropriate agencies if they need it).

At the Guadalupe Center, we provide services including a food pantry, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, nutrition classes, preventative health screenings, legal and immigration consultations and referrals, and comprehensive case management. To help the Hispanic community eliminate barriers to employment stability, counselors work with individuals to assess job skills and potentials, provide 30+ hours of classroom education to build job interviewing/application skills and better understand American workplace expectations, help in job placement, and provide follow-up/job retention support. Services also include English as a Second Language (ESL) and career development counseling.
