Provides reimbursement for some expenses incurred by Darke County residents who have a confirmed cancer diagnosis. Reimbursement of 25 cents/mile (up to $200) per month may be provided for mileage to and from cancer-related appointments (not including trips to the pharmacy), up to $100/month for prescription expense assistance, and up to $75/month for assistance with the purchase of medical supplies. Program participants are eligible for services up to 5 years unless in active treatment. Does not cover basic living expenses such as rent, mortgages, utility payments or food. Executive Director determines whether mileage is to be reimbursed as it links to the cancer diagnosis.

Provides assistance with medications and transportation, medical equipment, and nutritional supplements for patients suffering from end stage renal disease or who are newly transplanted. Must income qualify for ongoing assistance.

May be able to provide assistance for prostheses, ostomy supplies, and other cancer related expenses.

Provides financial assistance to help breast cancer patients and their families endure the high costs of breast cancer treatment. Funding amount varies based on breast cancer stage ($500 for earlier stage 0-3 and $750 for stage 4 metastatic breast cancer). Funds may be used on daily living costs including: - Rent and mortgage. - Utilities such as gas, electric, water, and/or phone. - Food or groceries. - Transportation. - Medical needs.

Provides limited medical care expense assistance for the cost of: - Adaptive Equipment. - Assistive technology (medically prescribed). - Bioness and walk-aid devices. - Compression garments. - Hearing aids. - Lift chairs. - Medical equipment. - Mobility equipment (wheelchairs, scooters, lifts, and so forth). - Orthopedic braces and shoes. - Prostheses. - Stairlifts. - Vehicle adaptations, hand controls (no van conversions). - Wheelchair ramps.
