Offers assistance in dealing with the justice system to individual victims of domestic violence (including elder abuse), stalking or related crimes. Includes information on the legal process, safety planning, and planning for next steps in the legal process. Advocates are not attorneys but have access to lists of attorneys who are knowledgeable about domestic violence. Advocates are assigned to the criminal municipal courts and are available assist victims with the criminal court process, including temporary protective orders. Accompaniment to court is provided to victims who live in the areas served. Accompaniment services are available for victims with criminal complaints, child custody cases, juvenile court cases if the parents have been together but never married, divorce cases, and domestic relations cases. Those who are clients may have access to donated cell phones to use in emergencies.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) recognizes and protects the civil rights of people with disabilities. It prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability. SOCIL provides assistance in addressing discrimination and barriers to access in the community, including housing, employment, transportation, and recreation.

Enforcement of administrative and court-ordered child support. Establishment of child support, establishment of parentage through DNA testing, modification of existing child support orders, collection and disbursement of support, enforcement of alimony (spousal support), establishment of medical support orders.

Offering a driver’s license reinstatement fee debt reduction and waiver program for offenders whose driver’s licenses have been suspended for specific violations.

Fair Housing Program provides information and assists in the resolution of tenant landlord issues in the county.

Provides limited, low cost legal assistance. Can provide defense in limited criminal matters including vacating pending traffic violations, managing misdemeanors, or dealing with probation or low-level felony warrants. Provides help with sealing of criminal records/expungement (and in some cases may be able to lessen or remove some penalties). Provides help with lawsuits arising from credit disputes, civil actions, and home foreclosures. Assists with the preparation of simple wills and assistance with some probate matters. Does not assist in criminal cases where a public defender or private lawyer will handle the case (most cases in common pleas court or municipal courts), unless its related to a Motion to seal or "expunge" or a motion to vacate capias (vacate an outstanding arrest warrant). Does not represent individuals in the following types of cases: civil litigation, workers comp, bankruptcy, eviction, divorce/dissolution/child support, and/or administrative appeals.

Ensures that the assets of a deceased person are collected, maintained, and properly distributed among his or her heirs, beneficiaries, and / or creditors according to the will of the decedent and the laws of the State of Ohio.

Provides a program that establishes paternity, issues child support orders, attempts to locate absent parents and modifies child support orders.

Provides legal representation in the divorce process when a child or other family member's wellbeing is jeopardized. Offers help in ensuring fair distribution of marital property and debt. Also provides assisted self-help divorces where there are no children, property, or debts.

Evaluates cases for older adults, people with disabilities, and people with life-threatening conditions related to advance directives and wills; financial powers of attorney; survivorship deeds; transfer on death affidavits; and quit claim deeds.

When children require services from multiple sources (i.e., mental health, schools, juvenile courts, developmental disabilities and alcohol/drug addiction services agencies), it can be difficult for parents to navigate their way through these various service systems. Families may become overwhelmed and have difficulty expressing their concerns and the needs of their child. Ohio’s Service Coordination process recognizes this challenge and has made support for families available through the Parent Advocacy Connection (PAC).

Assists veterans and their dependents in applying for state and federal benefits; including: pension and compensation claims insurance, hospitals and nursing home care. Also helps veterans at no cost to obtain an Veterans ID card.

Establishes the paternity of children born out of wedlock.

Offers system navigation, guidance, and information to parents without custody who need help to become more involved in the life of their child. Does not provide legal advice.

Provides and assists in arranging for child care services for families who are on public assistance, employed or in training who meet income as well as other eligibility criteria; payment can be made to licensed day care centers or certified home providers.

Provides assistance to private and public agencies and industry in developing and implementing affirmative action programs within the city of Dayton only.

Community psychiatric supportive treatment. Provides intensive case management to severely mentally disabled clients and provides after hours emergency crisis intervention for their clients. Behavioral health assessment, counseling and therapy, medication management.

Assist veterans and families with VA claims, temporary financial assistance, utility assistance, transportation to Wade Park VA and Parma, burial expense assistance.
