The Victim/Witness program provides advocacy services to victims of crime or witnesses of a crime.
Court Advocate assists clients through the criminal justice system as well as obtaining a protection orders through the civil courts. Child Advocate is trained in the care and advocacy for children who witness or are secondary victims of domestic violence.
*NOTE* The address to Safe Haven is not advertised. It is not at the Appleseed location. *NOTE* Shelter full as of Oct 12, 2023. Still able to take phone calls and provide resources and referrals. Prevention, intervention, support and advocacy, with emphasis on empowerment to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking. Provides an emergency shelter, 24 hour crisis line, campus advocacy, court advocacy, hospital advocacy, community outreach, and support groups.

Offers assistance to individuals to help them establish eligibility for or obtain needed services when they have been denied benefits or services for which they are eligible, or when they need assistance to communicate their needs to a service provider or to otherwise effectively represent themselves, or when they have a complaint about a service.
Provides advocacy and referrals for individuals with disabilities who have a history of chemical abuse or who are currently alcohol or drug-dependent.

Connects individuals with mental health providers or community resources in Fairfield County that will be most helpful. Hospital advocacy is offered for women who have been sexually exploited or trafficked.
The Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center Clinic provides free individual advocacy to victims of crime throughout Ohio.
Investigates complaints of racial discrimination in the areas of employment, housing, police brutality, criminal justice, veterans, health, and education. Refers complaints to proper authorities for resolution.

Works with individuals to develop their self-advocacy skills and to build a strong network of advocates with disabilities in central Ohio. This may include peer support.
Trained volunteers provide emotional support, crisis intervention and referral information over the telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to survivors of sexual violence, co-survivors and the community. Also offer long-term advocacy and support to survivors and co-survivors who need assistance working with law enforcement and navigating the criminal justice system.

Serves adults, children and youth in public or private psychiatric hospitals or units diagnosed with mental illness. Services range from information and referral, to mediation and negotiation, to legal advocacy.
The Get Connected Program provides system navigation and advocacy for individuals with mental health and / or addiction issues and their family members who reside in Franklin County. Services are primarily delivered by phone, e-mail, or in some cases face-to-face meetings (virtual and in-person). Program staff utilizes empathy, brief assessment skills, and motivational interviewing to assess callers’ individual needs in order to provide expert information and timely referral to appropriate community agencies and providers. For callers with more complex issues, program staff works with both caller and community provider involved to negotiate a mutual resolution.
Advocacy services include emotional support, linkage to community services, support groups, and follow up for survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
This program is designed to aid persons presenting to the emergency department of the hospital or law enforcement offices as survivors of rape or sexual assault. The advocates provide emotional support to the person during the evidence collection, medical exam and or law enforcement interview process. In addition, advocates provide linkage to other services in the community, support groups and follow up. Advocates also provide support, information, and referrals to family and friends of the survivor. Telephone support is on a 24 hour basis, via the hotline. An advocate is available by phone as well.The goal is to decrease the trauma of evidence collection, lessen the fear and confusion often associated with being in an emergency department or law enforcement environment. The advocate's role is to support the survivor so they do not have to go through the process alone. Even if the trauma was long ago our advocates can still help with their needs.
Advocates for people who are applying for, or receiving services from BVR or BSVI, and/or the Independent Living Centers throughout Ohio. Provides information on Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Providing a vital link between the criminal justice system and community services, CHOICES' Legal Advocates walk individuals through an often overwhelming court system, assisting with filing criminal charges and obtaining protection orders. Legal advocates gather information, offer support and comfort, and above all, listen.
Provides culturally-specific domestic violence and sexual assault victim services for immigrants and refugees in Central Ohio. Focuses on educating communities of their rights and services as well as providing culturally-appropriate advocacy and counsel for survivors. Assists survivors in re-establishing themselves through language and employability training as well as linkage to transportation, housing and supportive services. Helps establish a safety plan and take legal action through partnerships.
Offers a link between the criminal justice system and community services. Advocates walk individuals through court system.

The Long-term Care Ombudsman office is the voice for consumers of long-term care services. Ombudsmen serve as: mediators between clients and service providers; as a source of education and information; and advocates for consumer rights and needs improvements.
