Lead is dangerous, especially for children. If you have children get them tested for lead poisoning.
  • Most homes built before 1978 have some lead-based paint.
  • Lead-based paint can become a hazard when it chips, peels, and flakes causing lead dust.
  • Lead damages children's brains and organs and causes learning and behavior disabilities.
  • Children under six years of age suffer the most from lead poisoning because of their rapidly developing brains and bodies.
  • Young children can be lead poisoned by playing on the floor and putting their hands and toys into their mouth.
