This program is intended as a short-term solution with the goal of reunifying the primary family whenever possible. Transition support for children who are aging out of the foster care system is also provided. Recruits and trains families who are interested in providing foster care to children with special needs.

Provides a criminal background check to determine if an individual has a criminal record. Fingerprints are taken and compared against a database of criminal fingerprints. Two types of searches are offered: a Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI) check and a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) check. The BCI check searches for offenses in Ohio, while the FBI check searches for offenses nationwide. Many state laws require background checks for certain occupations such as those who work with children or older adults, certain licensed professionals, and those in the financial industry.
