Provides employment and training services to eligible, low-income individuals based on a comprehensive assessment of employment and training needs, as well as a basic skills assessment. Participants are provided services to support goals outlined in their individual opportunity plan, which may include support to obtain a high school diploma, job placement, work experience, and other supportive services such as rent, child care and transportation. Participants are provided with case management to address barriers to self-sufficiency such as health, addiction/substance abuse issues, housing, education, transportation, etc. Participants are typically offered paid Summer employment.

Provides research and research reports, policy briefs and other printed documents about economic/related issues in Ohio. Also participates in mass media presentations about these same issues.

Program focuses on the employment challenges of returning service members living with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The project equips employers and the workforce development system with the tools they need to help returning service members affected by TBI and/or PTSD succeed in the workplace - particularly service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Offers a variety of educational resources devoted to improving employment-related outcomes for returning service members with TBI and/or PTSD. Materials include fact sheets, Web-based training tools, educational presentations and more - all designed for employers, workforce development professionals, service branches, key military support systems, veterans' service organizations and One-Stop Career Centers.

Offers free access to telephones, a printer, fax machines, TV VCR and copy machine (available to make copies of resumes and to fax resumes to employers). Provides job postings, community resource information, labor market information, books, pamphlets, videos, and related materials for customer use. Assistive technology for job seekers with disabilities.

Promotes the rights of workers by educating the broader community about workplace abuses, helping workers improve employment standards, and supporting workers' rights to organize. Offers educational programs, speakers, and printed materials about workers' issues, such as workers' rights and free trade. Offers workers the opportunity to report abuse and violations of wage theft and other worker issues that may be system wide. Does not provide direct services for individuals, but does offer membership for persons interested in supporting workers rights.

Provides gasoline vouchers to purchase gasoline for employed individuals. Vouchers are for emergency situations only and valid for a one-time purchase on the date issued.

Offers job fairs aiming to connect individuals seeking employment with prospective employers. Job fairs range from single company to large job fairs with 30 to 40 companies on site.

Provides support, guidance with personal challenges, and workshops to help build confidence in securing employment. Services include connection to education and training, work readiness, career exploration, preparation for GED/High School Equivalency tests and high school graduation tests, resume and job skills preparation, use of computers for employment, and assistance with removing barriers to employment that may exist. "Participants are provided with case management to address barriers to self-sufficiency such as health, addiction/substance abuse issues, housing, education, transportation, etc."

Provides case management services to Direct Service Professionals (DSP) and those interested in pursuing a career as a DSP but may be facing current employment barriers.

Pairs young adults with individual mentors to further develop career development and job seeking skills.

- Provides employment case management for six (6) months to eligible individuals. - Enrolled individuals will receive $500 within 30 days of verifying employment, $500 at 90 days and $500 at conclusion of program at 180 days. - Required to meet in person monthly with case manager for incentive payments. Supportive Service provided once enrolled may include: - Savings match for purchase of a vehicle (match amount up to $3,800). - Car repairs (up to $1,000). - Car payments toward a vehicle loan ($500 max per payment, limited to two payments). - Driver's license reinstatement fees (up to $500).

Provides information on state's employment laws and unemployment benefits. Agency staff answer legal questions regarding employment and unemployment benefits offered by state and federal governments during the COVID 19 outbreak, laws regarding compensation, additional benefits available due to the pandemic, and rights on the job. Callers who need legal assistance may be referred to the organization's intake line.
