Counseling For Deaf And Hard Of Hearing | Signature Health

Provides counseling (individual and group), medication monitoring, and psychiatric disorder diagnosis and counseling. In addition, agency contracts with schools and other agencies to train staff on mental illness in deaf individuals. Works in collaboration with staff of other agency programs (children's and counseling programs) to serve client needs.

Coordinates a collaboration of Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center and Help Me Grow, which works to ensure that families of deaf and hard of hearing children receive the specialized support they need. Provides each family with the ongoing support of a certified outreach specialist who provides complete, impartial information on the condition as well as on the many options for communication and therapy, as well as information on the Deaf Community. Provides vocational support services in a variety of ways. For those enrolled in OOD, DCRC can offer skills training to help get a job or a better job. Consumers can learn how to write an effective resume, fill out applications, and practice interview skills. DCRC will advocate for support services and teach consumers to advocate for their needs.

Early Intervention Hearing Services | Family Child Learning Center

Provides an early intervention program for infants and toddlers with hearing loss and their families. Services provided virtually (via cell phone, tablet or computer). If the family doesn't have a computer, the center will work with the county's Early Intervention team to bring what is needed to the home. Helps families: - Navigate a new diagnosis of hearing loss and working together to identifying strengths to help communication skills. - Understand their child's hearing loss and new hearing technology. - Learn strategies to keep hearing aids and cochlear implants on little ears. - Learn ways to support their child in developing communication skills and ways to encourage their child to be aware and understand sounds, gestures, or sign language. - Learn how to use daily routines to be the best hearing experience. - Collaborate with other therapies and programs. - Transition to preschool.

Mayfield Hearing Impaired Program | Mayfield City School District

Provides public special education for hearing impaired children. Program components include parent-infant-toddler play based activities. a half or whole day language-intensive preschool segment, a full-day K-5 elementary school, middle school support, and a high school secondary hearing impairment segment. Support services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, school psychological and counseling services, on-going speech-language assessments, speech therapy, inclusion in main-stream classes as appropriate, interaction with hearing peers, parent conferences and home visits. and support groups for parents, and those who have Cochlear Implants.
