Deaf Community Resource Center offers various programs including: Vocational Services. Case Management and Support Services. Early Intervention for Hearing loss birth to age 3.Sign Language Classes. Social and peer interaction for deaf and hard of hearing youth and their families. Family to family support.

Provides the deaf, deaf/blind and hard of hearing community with supportive services such as case management, advocacy, referrals, interpreting and education to assist in maintaining independence or to prevent regression due to lack of community support or lack of communication.

Provides screening and evaluations for hearing, speech, and language, and audiological evaluations. Speech and language therapy, hearing evaluations, and hearing and speech aids vary per site.

Provides an early intervention program for infants and toddlers with hearing loss and their families. Services provided virtually (via cell phone, tablet or computer). If the family doesn't have a computer, the center will work with the county's Early Intervention team to bring what is needed to the home. Helps families: - Navigate a new diagnosis of hearing loss and working together to identifying strengths to help communication skills. - Understand their child's hearing loss and new hearing technology. - Learn strategies to keep hearing aids and cochlear implants on little ears. - Learn ways to support their child in developing communication skills and ways to encourage their child to be aware and understand sounds, gestures, or sign language. - Learn how to use daily routines to be the best hearing experience. - Collaborate with other therapies and programs. - Transition to preschool.

Provides prevention and education workshops to deaf youth and adults to reduce exposure and improve the community's ability to respond to relationship and sexual violence.

Provides an interactive school-based seminar led by an audiologist for third through sixth graders, to instill healthy hearing habits in children and prevent noise-induced hearing loss.

Provides a two-part class for new hearing aid users, aimed at improving their quality of life. Teaches clients how to use their hearing aids properly, with listening strategies so that communicating becomes easier and less frustrating.

Provides resource services to individuals and their families, who are hard of hearing or deaf. The Center provides information on deafness to business organizations; provide consultation and workshop services. Advocacy and Case Management are also provided.

Recommends hearing aids based on individual's needs and lifestyle. Provides hearing aids to qualified individuals with financial need and offers audiology services. Dispenses a wide range of hearing aid brands at all levels of technology. Availability depends on funding.

Provides workshops and consultation to provider organizations such as counselors and social workers, court/legal personnel, law enforcement, medical providers, shelter personnel and religious leaders and volunteers to improve services being offered to Ohio's deaf community.

Provides vocational support services in a variety of ways. For those enrolled in OOD, DCRC can offer skills training to help get a job or a better job. Consumers can learn how to write an effective resume, fill out applications, and practice interview skills. DCRC will advocate for support services and teach consumers to advocate for their needs.

Provide emotional and practical support for those dealing with opioid addiction. Services include referral to treatment to clinicians providing medicine based assistance (MAT) along with psychological treatment geared to opioid use disorder. Maintenance support such as transportation to treatment, opportunities for deaf to deaf support. facilitate services through OOD to provide employment, education for the deaf community to help them recognize the dangers of opioids and seek assistance.

Provides counseling (individual and group), medication monitoring, and psychiatric disorder diagnosis and counseling. In addition, agency contracts with schools and other agencies to train staff on mental illness in deaf individuals. Works in collaboration with staff of other agency programs (children's and counseling programs) to serve client needs.

Provides support services to those who are deaf and/or hard-of-hearing including assistance with housing, benefits screenings (government entitlements - obtaining or retaining food stamps, Social Security payments, etc), education, parenting, budgeting, reading and interpreting documents and communication differences.

Provides services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Clark and surrounding counties. Services include: assistance to deaf individuals who need help understanding and managing tasks that require English, such as bills, letters and phone calls, working with bureaucratic entities such as HUD and OJS, and appointments (e.g. with a doctor); basic adult education groups to improve daily living skills such as managing money, health equity, navigating transportation, and making effective use of technology; vocational assistance to those who would like help finding employment; social events to communicate with one another prevent isolation; and workshops open to deaf and hard of hearing and family and friends on issues of importance to the deaf community.

Provides a job readiness program for those who are deaf and/or hard of hearing. Program occurs in 3 stages in which the client will learn basic skills to obtain a job and retain said job. Will learn resume writing as well as interview skills and the final stage can lead to job placement.
