Services include assessments of work skills, job seeking skills, assistance with resume writing and interviewing, computer training, career exploration, job placement assistance, job coaching and assistance with making arrangements for special needs in the workplace. A community-based work experience can be offered in conjunction with this program. Provides information to potential employers on ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and other topics important for hiring persons with disabilities.

Uses volunteer committees to identify health and human service needs, work to address community problems, to distribute funds for programs, and promotes understanding of and collaboration with the public health and human service sectors through the public policy committee and other community building efforts.

Coordinates paramedic training, staff development standards and accreditation, and problem solving techniques to upgrade the quality of emergency pre-hospital care. The agency does not provide direct services to clients.

Provides vocational support services in a variety of ways. For those enrolled in OOD, DCRC can offer skills training to help get a job or a better job. Consumers can learn how to write an effective resume, fill out applications, and practice interview skills. DCRC will advocate for support services and teach consumers to advocate for their needs.

Provides assistance with organizing tenants so that they can address common issues they may have with their landlords (such as health, safety, property neglect, etc.). Goal is to use collective action so that the landlord addresses these issues. Educates and activates tenants to gain their rights under the Landlord-Tenant Law.

The purpose of Neighborhood Development/Community Organizing is to revitalize a designated neighborhood/residential area. Empowering residents to make positive changes that can be self-sustained by the neighborhood long-term. All initiatives for neighborhood organizing are resident-driven for maximum support, implementation and follow-through.

Assists residents in solving problems and communicating concerns about safety and other neighborhood-related issues to the appropriate municipal departments. Meets periodically with residents of particular buildings or streets.

Coordinates 10 neighborhood associations in the Lima City area. Works with residents, churches, educators, businesses and organizations to bring the community together to address concerns and issues that affect their neighborhoods.

Offers consultation and referral services, in areas of special needs populations including persons with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and learning disabilities.

Provides assistance with financial services (includes accounting), human resource management, and information technology for non-profit organizations. Serves as Fiscal Sponsor for selected organizations whose mission aligns with the agency.

Provides assistance with resolving problems and information on upcoming neighborhood projects. Issues covered include parking, safety, development, and access to city programs.

Offers a board recruitment / training and referral program. Prospective board members (volunteers) are referred to a nonprofit or public agency based on the volunteer's interests and qualifications and agency need. Nonprofit or public leadership and the prospective volunteer interview each other and election to the board occurs if it is an appropriate fit. Prospective board members receive training on the roles and responsibilities of serving on a board. In addition, the Agency offers Board consulting and training services.

Allows employees to donate to any of the more than 60 members charities through paycheck contributions. Employees are able to select the specific charity(ies) they wish to support through the campaigns.

Offers experienced HR professionals to assist employers with job matching, pre-screening, recruitment, job expos and training services. Also helps guide employers through the tax and wage incentive application process for the programs that fit their needs.
