Provides assistance in organizing neighborhoods for safety and other neighborhood concerns (parking, building code enforcement, and other issues of common concern). Also provides assistance in reporting and resolving complaints against those violating the city's housing codes. Services complement local community development corporations.

A conference facility which features an atrium/lobby which can be used for receptions for up to 200, a banquet room/auditorium with permanent dance floor and stage which can hold 500 for banquets or 600 for auditorium presentations, and several other meeting rooms. Provides information to businesses about volunteerism and volunteer opportunities and arranges placement for employees (as groups or as individuals) in volunteer service projects. Consults with businesses in developing community involvement strategies that benefit businesses, employees and the community. Also offers board referral and training services (see "Board Training and Referral" service group), as well as volunteer consultants, who are able to provide up to 20 hours of volunteer service in areas such as human resources, marketing, technology and finance.

Recognizes volunteers via ServeOhio Awards which honors high-impact service in local Ohio communities. Also convenes Ohio volunteer administration professionals in high-quality professional development at our annual Ohio Conference on Service and Volunteerism and through targeted dialogue on improving volunteer infrastructure.

Develops financial resources for human services through an annual campaign and other programs such as planned giving, Combined Federal campaign, and year-round communication about United Way services and community needs. Accepts donations of cash and payroll deduction, monies, and may accept donations of stocks and other selected items.

Assists neighborhood residents in organizing around common issues and in formulating and implementing plans to address community concerns with policymakers. Helps coordinate and develop block clubs and provides services to residents.

Uses volunteer committees to identify health and human service needs, work to address community problems, to distribute funds for programs, and promotes understanding of and collaboration with the public health and human service sectors through the public policy committee and other community building efforts.

Coordinates paramedic training, staff development standards and accreditation, and problem solving techniques to upgrade the quality of emergency pre-hospital care. The agency does not provide direct services to clients.

Facilitates and teaches a process of moderating discussions that enables diverse citizens to dialogue about issues of shared concern. All initiatives for neighborhood organizing are resident-driven for maximum support, implementation and follow-through.
