Provides disaster response coordination and disaster preparedness training in the state of Ohio and surrounding areas.

Perry County CERT is a group of trained individuals that are prepared to respond to both natural and man-made disasters. CERT educates the community about disaster preparedness CERT is a 20 hour course designed to teach citizens how to take care of themselves and their neighbors for 72 hours (3 days). Teaches basic first aid, fire suppression, search and rescue, and preparedness. With this course, citizens can be part of the County Team to help people after disasters and assist emergency responders.

Provides a program that increases public awareness of the measures that people can take before, during and after major disaster or wide-scale emergency

Assist local parishes in the development of local disaster preparedness plans, response and recovery after an event; respond to disasters through the Ohio VOAD network.

Provides a program that increases public awearness of the mesures that perople can take before, during and after major disaster or wide-scale emergency.

Provides training, conferences, and independent study courses on a variety of disaster issues such as disaster preparedness, disaster mitigation, and coping with disasters. Some courses offer CEU's.

Conducts multi-hazard planning for the communities that will enable them to mitigate, prepare for, respond to or recover from natural disasters, public health crises, terrorist incidents or other emergencies that occur within or have an impact on their area. Also addresses citizen awareness and self-sufficiency, responder capabilities, interagency cooperation in emergency operations and the roles, responsibilities and activities of public and private organizations and their staffs in all phases of the disaster.

Provides training to enhance the level of overall preparedness of government organizations, community based agencies, businesses, individuals, and families to respond to a large-scale emergency that disrupts the normal functioning of a community.

Conducts multi-hazard planning for the communities that will enable them to mitigate, prepare for, respond to or recover from natural disasters, public health crises, terrorist incidents or other emergencies that occur within or have an impact on their area. Also addresses citizen awareness and self-sufficiency, responder capabilities, interagency cooperation in emergency operations and the roles, responsibilities and activities of public and private organizations and their staffs in all phases of the disaster.

Provides training for people who want to volunteer to assist disaster victims. Topics covered include introduction to disaster, standard first aid, introduction to mass care, and shelter operations. Once training is complete, participants become part of the Disaster Action Team which is generally mobilized for local and domestic disasters (but not generally for international disasters).

The Knox Public Health works with local agencies to develop a plan that will allow us to be prepared for any emergency or threat to our community. The Knox County plan addresses a variety of health threats and the procedures necessary to maintain efficient public health services for our citizens including: Reporting infectious diseases and other public health emergencies, Developed plans for mass immunization or antibiotic distribution in order to ensure the safety of the residents, Coordinated smallpox vaccination to smallpox response teams made up of public health and healthcare personnel. Trained staff on crucial topics including, computer technology, Incident Command System, Epidemiology, and Weapons of Mass Destruction, Exercised emergency plans with local and regional partners.

The Licking County Health Department works closely with other agencies to prepare for, and respond to emergencies that threaten the public's health. LCHD staff participate in state and local emergency planning committees including: Licking County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), Central Ohio Regional Public Health Planning Committee, Medical Reserve Corps and the Central Ohio Regional Medial Response System. We also test our emergency response plans annually. We have participated in Local, Multi-County, and Regional exercises covering chemical attacks, bio-terrorism, and disease outbreaks.

Responsible for the control and extinction of fires in urban or wilderness areas; the inspection of buildings and hillside property to ensure potential fire hazards; and the maintenance of equipment and trained firefighters necessary for a quick and efficient response to fires when they occur. Also provides 24 hour emergency medical services. All firefighters are cross-trained as paramedics.

There are several private companies that may be contracted by municipalities to provide an emergency alert system that alerts residents by phone (land line and mobile) of immediate weather emergencies or other disasters. This is not a particular agency. This is included to describe a means by which clients may contact their local police department to find out about any mass alert system that their municipality may contract with.

Provides transportation to evacuate an endangered area in the event of a natural disaster per Lake County EMA.

Provides resources and trainings to help community members prepare for disasters.

Provides brochures and pamphlets regarding heat waves, thunderstorms/lightning, tornadoes, flooding, winter storms, and other natural disasters.

Provides fire code enforcement, plans review and inspections of commercial structures for construction work, and inspection for complaints of no smoke detectors for both commercial and residential properties.

Provides assessment of risk and needs for the health and safety of Richland County residents in time of natural or manmade disasters.

Provides Emergency services to the residents of Clark County.

Large Scale Emergencies and Disaster Services

Coordinates planning, response, recovery, and mitigation related to any disaster occurring in Allen County. Maintains the county's haz-mat and decontamination team as well as the county's Emergency Operation Center (EOC), urban search and rescue team, and regional bomb squad. Establishes and updates the county's Emergency Operations Plan and coordinates training exercises for various response agencies.
