Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) - Knox | Knox County Office Of Homeland Security And Emergency Management

Knox County CERT is a group of trained individuals that are prepared to respond to both natural and man-made disasters. CERT educates the community about disaster preparedness and offers an 8 week training course, coordinated through the Knox County Citizen Corps Council, that focuses on disaster preparedness, fire suppression, medical operations, search and rescue, disaster psychology, and team organization.

Emergency Response | Licking County Health Department

The Licking County Health Department works closely with other agencies to prepare for, and respond to emergencies that threaten the public's health. LCHD staff participate in state and local emergency planning committees including: Licking County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), Central Ohio Regional Public Health Planning Committee, Medical Reserve Corps and the Central Ohio Regional Medial Response System. We also test our emergency response plans annually. We have participated in Local, Multi-County, and Regional exercises covering chemical attacks, bio-terrorism, and disease outbreaks.

Recruits and trains volunteers for surge capacity during a public health emergency. Provides specialized services to the community during and after natural disasters, epidemics, accidents (fires, chemical spills, broken water or sewer structures), and potential bio-terror attacks. Due to the possibility of flooding or other wide-spread disasters, EMA may call for residents in certain areas to evacuate. For residents who do not have alternate shelter or need assistance, the Red Cross will open evacuation center(s) as needed. At this time, the EMA is asking citizens to be prepared: - Monitor your property. - Bring outdoor belongings inside. - Move valuable household possessions to upper floors or to safe grounds. - Stock clean water in case water becomes contaminated - Be prepared to evacuate. - Listen to the news for the latest information.

Perry County CERT is a group of trained individuals that are prepared to respond to both natural and man-made disasters. CERT educates the community about disaster preparedness CERT is a 20 hour course designed to teach citizens how to take care of themselves and their neighbors for 72 hours (3 days). Teaches basic first aid, fire suppression, search and rescue, and preparedness. With this course, citizens can be part of the County Team to help people after disasters and assist emergency responders.
