Knox County CERT is a group of trained individuals that are prepared to respond to both natural and man-made disasters. CERT educates the community about disaster preparedness and offers an 8 week training course, coordinated through the Knox County Citizen Corps Council, that focuses on disaster preparedness, fire suppression, medical operations, search and rescue, disaster psychology, and team organization.

The Licking County Health Department works closely with other agencies to prepare for, and respond to emergencies that threaten the public's health. LCHD staff participate in state and local emergency planning committees including: Licking County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), Central Ohio Regional Public Health Planning Committee, Medical Reserve Corps and the Central Ohio Regional Medial Response System. We also test our emergency response plans annually. We have participated in Local, Multi-County, and Regional exercises covering chemical attacks, bio-terrorism, and disease outbreaks.

Recruits and trains volunteers for surge capacity during a public health emergency. Provides specialized services to the community during and after natural disasters, epidemics, accidents (fires, chemical spills, broken water or sewer structures), and potential bio-terror attacks. Participates in disaster preparedness exercises and simulated emergencies to evaluate and better coordinate local emergency response.

Due to the possibility of flooding or other wide-spread disasters, EMA may call for residents in certain areas to evacuate. For residents who do not have alternate shelter or need assistance, the Red Cross will open evacuation center(s) as needed. At this time, the EMA is asking citizens to be prepared: - Monitor your property. - Bring outdoor belongings inside. - Move valuable household possessions to upper floors or to safe grounds. - Stock clean water in case water becomes contaminated - Be prepared to evacuate. - Listen to the news for the latest information.

Offers personal disaster preparedness information. Promotes individuals, especially those with access and functional needs, to identify a friend or family member who is trusted by the individual to check on them during a disaster or emergency incident. Offered through a partnership with Summit County Public Health, American Red Cross, County Animals Rescue and Evacuation, Direction Home Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging, and Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board.

Perry County CERT is a group of trained individuals that are prepared to respond to both natural and man-made disasters. CERT educates the community about disaster preparedness CERT is a 20 hour course designed to teach citizens how to take care of themselves and their neighbors for 72 hours (3 days). Teaches basic first aid, fire suppression, search and rescue, and preparedness. With this course, citizens can be part of the County Team to help people after disasters and assist emergency responders.

Notifes residents of Medina County of emergency situations via Medina County Emergency Alerts (MCEA). MCEA allows safety officials to send messages to the entire community, or a specific area within moments. These messages will inform residents of the situation and give instructions for action.

Provides emergency management services for areas where the city or state has made a public declaration. Services provided depend on the situation. Coordinates training and drill exercises for various response agencies. Provides information concerning weather forecasts, watches, and warnings by scanner and facebook page.

Provides information and informative materials about preparing for weather-related emergencies such as heat waves, thunderstorms/lightning, tornadoes, flooding, winter storms, and other natural disasters.

Provides resources and trainings to help community members prepare for disasters.

Provides training for people who want to volunteer to assist disaster victims. Topics covered include introduction to disaster, standard first aid, introduction to mass care, and shelter operations. Once training is complete, participants become part of the Disaster Action Team which is generally mobilized for local and domestic disasters (but not generally for international disasters).

Coordinates planning, response, recovery, and mitigation related to any disaster occurring in Allen County. Maintains the county's haz-mat and decontamination team as well as the county's Emergency Operation Center (EOC), urban search and rescue team, and regional bomb squad. Establishes and updates the county's Emergency Operations Plan and coordinates training exercises for various response agencies.
