Crime Prevention Officer is available to speak to interested groups. Encourages and assists neighborhoods to organize neighborhood associations, which meet to learn how to discourage preventable crime in their areas. Also has a program of stickers installed by the police which alert patrols to cars being driven at unusual hours which may have been stolen. Offers vacation security checks of homes for residents who are out of town. Sponsors a bike rodeo each year where children have bike safety tests, can ride a bike course, are fitted for helmets, etc.

The Community Services Unit is involved in several community-oriented programs designed to increase the interaction, awareness, safety, and involvement of the entire community; investigates citizen complaints, neighborhood disputes, is a liaison between neighborhood, civic, and school groups and the Police division; coordinates a neighborhood block watch program.

Provides law enforcement information and education. Provides community policing, with officers patrolling on motorcycles and talking with residents. Accepts complaints on and provides information about consumer fraud. Performs security evaluations for homes and businesses on request. Provides special random patrols of homes where residents are on vacation.

Provides law enforcement and safety information for the Village of Newburgh Heights. Also provides a community policing officer who serves as a community liaison and maintains optimum relations between the police department and the larger community.

Week long day camp that connects young people with law enforcement as a way to build trust and understanding.
