Provides a variety of crime prevention and safety education services for the City of Garfield Heights. Does not have many specific programs, but does offer individual workshops/seminars on a wide variety of specific topics as requested.

Provides crime prevention and safety education services on topics such as adult passenger safety, bicycle safety, child abuse prevention, child passenger safety, dating violence prevention, general crime prevention, legal information, and personal safety. Offers security evaluations, neighborhood watch and seeks to strengthen police/community relations.

Provides a variety of safety education and crime prevention services for the City of Maple Heights. Also provides a Child Seat Inspection Team, and a Gun Lock give-away Program (1 lock free to any adult resident).

Provides a variety of services directed to educating the public about crime prevention. Community policing program includes activities for children such as sports, hobbies, and outings. Crime Prevention Officer is available to speak to interested groups. Encourages and assists neighborhoods to organize neighborhood associations, which meet to learn how to discourage preventable crime in their areas. Also has a program of stickers installed by the police which alert patrols to cars being driven at unusual hours which may have been stolen. Offers vacation security checks of homes for residents who are out of town. Sponsors a bike rodeo each year where children have bike safety tests, can ride a bike course, are fitted for helmets, etc.

The Community Services Unit is involved in several community-oriented programs designed to increase the interaction, awareness, safety, and involvement of the entire community; investigates citizen complaints, neighborhood disputes, is a liaison between neighborhood, civic, and school groups and the Police division; coordinates a neighborhood block watch program.

Week long day camp that connects young people with law enforcement as a way to build trust and understanding.

Bicycle rodeos are held in the public schools to promote bicycle safety awareness and safe-riding practices.

Provides designated patrol officers who work directly in/with specific neighborhoods to help residents resolve problems; serves as a liaison between residents and the police department.

Accepts complaints on and provides information about consumer fraud. Performs security evaluations for homes and businesses on request. Provides special random patrols of homes where residents are on vacation.
