Aspires to have a community where reading and math achievement gaps based on race and household income are eliminated; more youth are eating healthy and engaging in the proper amount of physical activity; less adolescents are engaging in risky behavior such as smoking, drinking and violence; and there is an increased connection between schools and parents. South Side Pride partners include: Catholic Charities; Elyria City Schools; Elyria Parks and Recreation; Elyria Public Library; Horizon Education Centers; Lorain County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services; Effective Leadership Academy, Lorain County Public Health, Mental Health Addiction and Recovery Services, and United Way of Greater Lorain County.

Provides mental health and addiction services, including assessing the need for services, coordinating the planning of mental health and addiction facilities, services and programs in Wood County, Ohio; allocates funds to agencies providing a wide variety of direct services, monitors and evaluates services to ensure high-quality and cost-effective programs, and initiates new programs in the absence of needed community services.

Partnering agencies include: Keystone - LaGrange Library, Keystone Pointe, Keystone Local School District and PTA, LaGrange United Methodist Church, Lorain County Public Health, Penfield Township, LaGrange Village, Mercy Health, and United Way of Greater Lorain County. Projects include: Indoor walking during the winter months, produce pickup days during the summer months, Silver Sneakers, infrastructure projects, and more.

Provides a wide range of services for individuals, family and friends of people affected by epilepsy and those with developmental disabilities. Services include information and referral, advocacy and case management, non-medical transportation, work skills lab/job coaching/community employment, prescription and benefits assistance, peer support groups, family support network, family camp, and quarterly education programs (Living With Epilepsy series).

Projects include: Community walking year-round, produce pickup days during the summer months, bike share at North Ridgeville Branch Library, Charlie Cart programming, environment projects, and much more.

Provides language development support as well that helps children going into school with hearing loss receive support and achieve fluency in American Sign Language

Partnering agencies include: First Congregational Church of Wellington, First United Methodist Church of Wellington, Kiwanis of Wellington, Lansman's Shape Shop, Lorain County Community College, Lorain County Public Health, Lorain County Metro Parks, Lorain County Office on Aging, Main Street Wellington, Mercy Health, Oberlin Community Services, Rochester Township, United Way of Greater Lorain County, Wellington Salvation Army, Wellington Village, Wellington Schools, and WellHelp. Initial strategies include: - Fresh produce pick-ups. - Offering free healthy cooking demonstrations to the public. - Metabolic syndrome programming. - Improving walking paths in the townships. - Aligning annual events with healthy options messaging and resources.

Provides wrap-around services within school buildings that address the connection between healthy behaviors and academic achievement. Initiatives include: - Coordinating school menus and concessions to include fresh and local produce. - Providing family fit nights in school facilities. - Creating walking and biking paths for safe and healthy travel to school. - Integrating health and wellness messaging into existing curriculum and presentations.

Provides a variety of health and nursing services, including immunizations, health education, blood pressure screenings, car seat inspections and vaccines; Ohio Buckles Buckeyes is a car seat program that provide child passenger safety seats at no cost for low-income with children under age 4; the Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps assists children with medical handicaps.

The Autism Society provides information and referrals via a toll-free phone line for autism-related questions and an on-line database with local and national resources. The Autism Society is made up of a nationwide network of chapters designed to provide information and support geographically. The Autism Society hosts an annual and several local conferences and publishes a quarterly magazine, the Autism Advocate. The Autism Society impacts local, state and federal public policy and increases awareness about day-to-day issues and promotes research that leads to applied practices to improve the quality of life for those living with autism.

Provides various monthly community classes such as cooking and nutrition classes, CPR courses, GED classes, fitness classes and health screenings.
