The Center is a six-bed facility designed to provide an alternative to hospitalization and assist in the resolution of problems which are contributing to a person’s illness. The crisis center accepts people over the age of 18 who have psychiatric illnesses or emotional disturbances that make short-term intervention in a supportive setting necessary. People in crisis may stay in the program for a maximum of fourteen days, during which time they are assisted in making choices regarding future living arrangements, continued treatment, and other related issues. Services such a psychiatric consultation, nursing consultation, case management, and individual solution-focused therapy are provided during the consumer’s stay.

Provides a supervised living environment to severely mentally ill people who need supervision and support so that they can gain greater independence. Staff monitors self-administration of medications, supervises meal preparation, and helps residents develop proper personal care and hygiene. Provides training to enhance and further daily living skills development. The Transitional Living Center (TLC) can also provide short term crisis bed services to individuals who need diversion or transition from a psychiatric hospital setting (9 beds). In some cases, the crisis bed has been used to provide temporary shelter to a person with a mental illness who is also homeless. If beds are not available, agency will work with the client to develop a plan to secure housing and will refer to community services as needed (follow-up and help with paperwork are also provided).
