Identifying outside of the heteronormative may cause seemingly endless challenges, such as adjusting to changes, working through the “coming out”/disclosure process, navigating self/family/societal acceptance, healing from traumas, and so much more. These unique stressors, at any level, can be the underlying causes for depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and other difficulties.
As a queer identifying therapist, I understand how important it is to have access to competent and affirming mental healthcare. I am proud to help provide the safe and supportive environment, with the appropriate professional training, as a Gender and Sexual/Affectional Minority (GSM) inclusive therapist. I also work collaboratively with other affirming practitioners to help along your journey.
Whether you are looking for individual, relationship or family counseling, I feel confident in helping you with challenges such as:
Coping with social stigma, bias and homophobia
Understanding gender and sexual/affectional diverse identities and expressions
Guidance and insight through your process of medical or social transition
Navigating challenges unique to Trans and Gender Non-Binary (TGNB) stressors
Depression
Relationship(s) - intimate/platonic/family
When a family member is LGBTQ+ (Gender and Sexual/Affectional Diverse)
"Coming out" - disclosure to family/friends/others
Parenting an LGBTQ+/GSD identifying youth
Anxiety
Navigating any questions, concerns, or fears
Help finding the paths that feel most authentic to you
and more!
Come share in a space with no judgment, just hope and affirmation.
