Trained volunteer coaches lead small teams through a research-based curricula, which includes dynamic discussions, activities, and running games to encourage positive emotional, spiritual, social, mental, and physical development. Provides a non-competitive 5K/3.1 mile event at the end of each season session.

Afterschool Programs of Lancaster offer a wide variety of activities for school-age children and youth in out-of-school hours.
As part of our Discovery Play program, families can drop-in to utilize our community space for fun and learning together. Includes climbing and tunnels for large motor fun in all weather, a touchless and interactive floor projector, an augmented reality sandbox and high powered microscope, educational exhibits, rotating STEM-focused table top activities, sensory experiences, access to toys/tech/tools for featured activities, pop-up demonstrations by staff, etc. Target ages are 3-11, but younger and older siblings and their accompanying adults enjoy the space as well. Current public hours are Thursdays 9-noon, 1 to 4pm, and 5-8pm. And Fridays and Saturdays 9-noon and 1 to 4 pm. Low daily admission fee, financial accessibly pricing for EBT card holders, camp and membership scholarships widely available. In June and July, we offer half-day summer camps, with income-based scholarships. These are for school agers who have completed kindergarten though fifth grade. Opportunities for high school volunteers to assist with camps.

Recreation program activities include golf, tennis, adult and youth athletic leagues including but not limited to soccer, flag football, basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball. Youth and adult activities and educational programs include summer camp, nature programs, arts & crafts and much more are on the schedule. Residents can travel to Urbana (north), Cincinnati (south), and Buck Creek State Park (east), from downtown following the multi-purpose trails. The Trail Walkers program,meets on Thursdays at 10:00, 9:00 am for the summer months, and highlights the multi-purpose trail system to promote fitness, fellowship and fun. Other activities such as golf, swimming, tennis, and special events take place at the many different parks in the county. The parks also provide areas for picnics, fishing, ice skating, horseshoes, playgrounds, athletic events and special event concerts and shuffleboard. S.U.N.S.H.I.N.E. Learning Station (SLS) is a state licensed, after-school, academically oriented enrichment and reinforcement program for children in grades K-5. Its mission is spelled out in its name: a School for Unusual Needs Students, offering a Healthy, Individualized, and Nurturing Education. The SLS specializes in serving students who need to improve study skills, need extra personal attention or additional academic help, including students who are both below and above their academic grade level. All students need special attention not currently available in the local elementary schools. The SLS maintains a student/teacher ratio of 6:1. The program’s goal is that, by the time the students move up to the Middle School, they will be working at grade level in math, reading, and writing. A supper/snack is provided as well as transportation from Marietta City School's elementary schools.

4-H is a non-formal educational, youth development program offered to individuals age 5 and in kindergarten to age 19. Ohio 4-H youth development reaches more than 240,000 youth each year – helping kids “learn by doing” through hands-on activities. All 4-H programs focus on active involvement and quality experiences which stimulate lifelong learning of values and skills. 4-H members learn valuable lessons in leadership, communication and collaboration while increasing their knowledge in math, science, technology and a variety of other topics.
