Help Me Grow Home Visiting is Ohio's program for expectant parents, newborns, infants and toddlers. The program provides health and developmental services so that children start school healthy and ready to learn. Help Me Grow works with parents to support young children's development. Home Visitors provide on-going home visits in the home; focus on improving prenatal health habits and infant care giving skills; provide information on child's health, growth, education and development through the Parents As Teachers program; provide screenings for health, hearing, vision and development; connect families with community resources and services. Affiliated with the evidence-based home visiting model Parents As Teachers. Services include - Developmental Screening - Information on parenting tips - Assistance in developing and reaching family goals - Home Visits to help each child stay "on the road" to healthy growth and development - Service Coordination - professional nurses, teachers, or other qualified staff who share their knowledge about available resources, assist families in connecting with needed services, coordinate services to help families meet their needs and goals. Provides testing for genetic or metabolic disorders, such as Byler's Disease, Cohen Syndrome, Prolidase Deficiency, PKU, etc. Prepares and coordinates a treatment plan for the patient, which can involve multiple agencies and hospitals. Special attention is paid to the Amish community, who account for a larger proportion of the rare genetic and metabolic diseases.

Early intervention program for families of infants and toddlers birth to 36 months of age with developmental delays or a medical diagnosis likely to result in developmental delay or disability. Provide service coordination, developmental screening, evaluation and assessment and EI services delivered through a Primary Service Provide model of coaching and learning.

Providing classroom programming for children 18 months to kindergarten entry with identified areas of developmental concerns.

Offers comprehensive diagnostic services and intensive behavioral treatment for children with autism. Service includes developing a individual plan that uses a variety of behavioral techniques to increase appropriate behaviors and to decrease or eliminate interfering behaviors. Parental involvement for children of any age, but particularly for infants and toddlers, is a integral part of the treatment.

The purpose of BCMH is to rule out a handicapping condition, to diagnose a condition and/or develop a plan of treatment.
