The University of Toledo’s Division of Continuing Education, housed in University College, serves lifelong learning needs of our community and beyond. We do this in partnership with UT’s colleges and their top faculty as well as through other high quality subject matter experts. In addition, the Colleges of Law, Pharmacy and Business Administration provide continuing learning opportunities for their alumni and the community.

Offers tuition free courses on a noncredit, space available basis for Ohio residents ages 60 and older. Most course offerings are available; however, there are a few exceptions including ESL, piano, medical school classes, law school classes, MBA and extended education classes.

Offers older adults to enroll in classes on a non-credit basis (audit).

Partners teaching artists and educators in inclusive classrooms with the goal of enhancing teaching and learning through an arts integrated curriculum.

COMMUNITY TRAINING PROGRAM:The Community Training Program provides opportunities for professional development through quality training and education workshops. All trainings are accredited through the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, providing CEU's for social workers and counselors. Training also provides CE's for nurses. Provides education and training on the grant-seeking and nonprofit management process mainly for nonprofit organizations but offers some information for individuals. Offers orientations and holds workshops and seminars on topics such as grant-seeking, proposal budgeting, and proposal writing, but does not write proposals.

The Office of Continuing Education (CEd) provides the following programs for older adults: Academic Advising Services - CEd’s Academic Programing Unit is an enrollment area with special emphasis on academic advising for returning adults who are interested in taking undergraduate credit courses at Ohio State. Continuing Education Units - any adult learners seek documentation for non-credit programming that may be viewed as professional development in the workplace. The process of awarding Continuing Education Units (CEUs) is based upon an evaluation of the program content and instructor’s qualifications using specific criteria. Program 60 - Program 60 is a unique opportunity for Ohio’s older citizens (age 60 and over) to sit in on courses at Ohio State on a noncredit, space-available basis.

Provides education and training to professionals and organizations on best practices in regard to serving LGBTQ+ youth. In some cases agency may draw upon the knowledge and expertise of collaborative partners to provide training specific to the needs of the requesting organization.
