Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE), now called ASPIRE, is available at a variety of convenient times and at no charge. These classes are a great way to improve your employability or prepare to enroll in college or other training programs. GED - Learn how to use a scientific calculator (used in the GED tests), as well as prepare for the GED test. You can improve math, reading and writing skills to increase college placement and work-place credential scores. Classes help students prepare for the world of work. Provides adult education/GED classes, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and instruction in reading, math and English with particular emphasis on preparing students for the GED test.

Work with the Hispanic and Multi-cultural communities and their families through discussion and collaboration to provide information on options and referrals to Behavioral Health professionals, facilities, and organizations specializing in the client's needs.

Offers High School Equivalency testing as well as preparation classes.

Accepts all adult learners of all levels. Basic literacy, GED test prep, ESOL, financial planning, employment support, and college readiness. Every student is assessed and provided an individual learning plan and assigned instructor.

Offers basic academic skills training to prepare for official GED testing, including GED practice testing. Individual, small group, and computer-based instruction available. Also serves as a GED testing site.

Provides basic literacy education to teach new refugees/immigrants simple skills such as how to write their name, give their home address, phone number, etc. Also provides tutoring to adults to refugee/immigrant adults who are taking GED/Basic Education classes.

Provides free, one-on-one tutoring to increase literacy levels. Tutors and students are asked to make a commitment of at least six months.

Provides a variety of adult literacy services. Service includes classes in basic reading and math, classes that refine skills to take one of the tests that serves as the equivalent of a high school diploma, high school equivalency testing, classes to develop English-speaking skills when a first language is not English, and the opportunity for eligible individuals to complete requirements for a high school diploma by passing a job skills test and completing job training in health care, manufacturing, logistics, food preparation, emergency services or construction. Successful fulfillment of job skills test and job training result in a high school diploma as well as any earned certificate.

Offers volunteer tutors to work with persons who want to improve their reading, writing, math, social studies and science skills and/or work toward obtaining a High School Equivalency diploma. Tutors work one-on-one with students. Also provides access to computers, assistance transitioning to higher education and job readiness training for enrolled participants. Reading,math and language skills will be assessed.

Ohio Hi-Point ABLE will help you build basic academic (reading, writing, math and computer) skills to prepare you for job changes, to help you help your children with homework, to enter college or other job training with confidence, or to prepare for official GED test. Help is also available for low or non-readers. Individuals set goals and pace.

Provides one-on-one tutoring for people age 18 and older who need to improve their basic reading and literacy skills. Tutoring provided by trained tutors who are certified by Project: Learn.

Offers a Career & Academic Readiness Education program at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers offers free classes, workshops and programs to help students prepare for the workforce. For some, obtaining a job includes completing high school, improving basic skills, and/or entering college or adult certification programs. All students go through a process to identify their strengths and interests and the careers that line up with those strengths and interests, while taking into consideration what in-demand occupations are available locally. Our classes, with support from Aspire funding, help students meet their individual personal and professional goals.
