Offers a Career & Academic Readiness Education program at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers offers free classes, workshops and programs to help students prepare for the workforce. For some, obtaining a job includes completing high school, improving basic skills, and/or entering college or adult certification programs. All students go through a process to identify their strengths and interests and the careers that line up with those strengths and interests, while taking into consideration what in-demand occupations are available locally. Our classes, with support from Aspire funding, help students meet their individual personal and professional goals.

Provides a phone line where callers can find programs that may help them finish their high school equivalency tests and get a diploma or improve their ability to read, write, or do mathematics. Also offers, ESOL and U.S. citizenship classes. Some sites may offer job training for professional certificates alongside preparation for the GED exam.

The Adult Diploma Program at C-TEC’s Adult Education Center is a new opportunity for any resident of Ohio who is 20 years old or older, and does not already have a High School Diploma or GED credential. Learning is student-centered, self-paced and begins with a Career Pathway in mind. From student orientation, career counseling, assessment and enrichment classes, to technical training that leads to an industry approved credential, this program is designed to provide support and promote success during and after graduation. Adult Diploma participants will receive their High School Diploma upon successful completion of the credential program, and acquiring the designated industry credential for their assigned program. The Ohio Means Jobs – Athens County, Aspire program provides classes and individual instruction for adults who wish to improve their basic skills and/or prepare for the General Equivalence Diploma (GED) test, which can now be taken at Tri-County Career Center. The Aspire program provides small group and individual instruction in the following areas: - Basic literacy skills - GED exam preparation - Math - Language Arts - Social Studies - Life skills - Employability skills - Basic computer skills.

Offers Adult Basic Literacy Classes (ABLE) that assist adults with review of basic subjects such as: math, reading , writing, English for self-improvement and/or General Equivalence Diploma (GED) test preparation. Technical and Trade classes provide classroom related requirements for apprenticeships. Offers family literacy providing ABLE/GED students with early childhood literacy and parenting skills through the Even Start Program.
