The Center offers hope and healing as it treats child abuse and domestic violence victims, providing long-term therapeutic support for them and their non-offending family members. The Center brings together a dedicated child abuse medical team, therapists, law enforcement, child welfare workers, prosecutors and domestic violence advocates to provide comprehensive treatment for these families and to hold perpetrators accountable.

CAC has programs that provide therapeutic interventions for individuals and/or families who are experiencing child abuse including abandonment, neglect, or emotional, physical or sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or other family or extended family member whom the child trusts and who is in a position of power over the child.

The program helps children and families cope and heal emotionally, animal-assisted therapy support for victims of violence. Provides practical information and support to the children and family about the investigation and court process, safety education that teaches young children about safe and unsafe touches and ways to seek help from trusted adults, and also provides on-site medical exams.

The Advocates for Families CASA Program is seeking caring adults to volunteer in Knox County. Volunteer duties include making contact with the child once a month; full case investigation reviewing all relevant documents; meet with anyone who has information regarding the child, including but not limited to case workers teachers, medical professionals; maintain written documentation: maintain complete confidentiality; attend all court hearings and meetings; complete annual continued education hours as required by Ohio Supreme Court Rule 48 guidelines. NOTE: CASA supervisor walks alongside each volunteer throughout the life of each case.
