MCHD responds to complaints of health threats including improper disposal of garbage, sewage, tires, or dead animals, as well as rodent and insect infestations.A Complaint Report Form may be downloaded at https://mchdohio.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Complaint-Report-Form.pdf, or call the office to report.
Individuals may report conditions which warrant a public health nuisance to the Environmental Health Division of the Morrow County Health District by completing and submitting the "Nuisance Complaint Form" form on the website.
Issues orders by the environmental health divison to attain compliance. Nuisances may include garbage and refuse complaints, housing problems, air quality issues, insect and rodent infestations, lead abatement and sewage system failures.

Provides service to file complaints and investigate unlawful garbage accumulation that violates health safety standards, including intrusive smell and attracting vermin.

Also conducts complaint investigation and enforcement for seasonal high grass/weeds complaints, sidewalk and right-of-way obstructions/encumbrances, signage and postings in public right-of-way, graffiti on public and private property.

Provides program for Brown County residents to file health complaints concerning rental housing, restaurants, and public nuisances such as septic system failures and uncontrolled trash. Filed complaints are investigated by Public Health Inspectors.

Accepts reports of graffiti, public cleaning issues, suspicious activity, loitering, and aggressive panhandling. Ambassadors patrol on foot and bicycle, perform checks in downtown businesses, welcome visitors, and answer questions about transit and other downtown Akron amenities, share information with visitors, and provide event support. Trained in first aid, safety/police procedures, conflict management, and customer relations.
