NOTE: Homeowners who request assistance with rodent control or home sanitation may be cited for corrective action if the health inspector decides the situation warrants.

Operates as a regional wastewater treatment agency that transports and treats wastewater in the Greater Cleveland area. Regulates storm and sanitary collection facilities, operates three waste water treatment plants, and maintains major sewer intercepts within the larger sewer system. Monitors the water quality at area beaches and posts the results for the public on the agency website and through signage at beaches. Accepts complaints about illegal dumping into the sewer system and odors coming from the sewers. Responsible for the development and implementation of a regional storm and flood control plan. In case of basement flooding, will send an inspector to the site to determine if blockage or break is in the main sewer line (for example, the storm sewer in the street) or on private property (from the curb to the house). Can only address issues with Sewer District owned sewer line. The sewer line from the curb to the house is the homeowners' responsibility.
