Property Tax Exemption Information

Provides qualifying applicants with a 2.5% reduction in property taxes for their primary residence.

Enables property to be appraised for homeowners due to structural, storm or fire damage and other disasters. Also if their was a razed building on the property. If the damage reduces the property value, homeowner may be eligible for a temporary tax reduction.
Provides a reduction in property taxes for eligible senior citizens and disabled homeowners in the county. The reduction is equal to the taxes that would otherwise be charged on up to $25,000 of the market value of an eligible taxpayer's homestead. For example, a home with a market value of $100,000 is billed as if it is worth $75,000. The exact amount of savings varies by location but, overall, homeowners save an average of $300-400 for the tax year.
