Prisoners with a history of substance abuse have several options for recovery. DCI provides residential and outpatient treatment programs certified by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS). DCI was ODADAS certified in June 1995.

Provides formal supervision for those awaiting trial or on community control (probation) as ordered by the court. Supervises probationers and monitors compliance to the conditions of their probation as well as providing other services such as referrals for social services. Provides specialized probation services for those needing intensive supervision such as those with mental illness and sex offenders. Offers full day and partial hospitalization options for the treatment of sexually reactive youth who have had little or no prior treatment. Adjudicated and non-adjudicated youth are accepted. Services include individual, family and recreational therapy, transportation to and from the program location, comprehensive diagnostic and risk assessment, psychological and psychiatric evaluations and after care and community follow-up.

Services offered to families and the community on the issues of sexual victimization and/or sexual offending. Primary modes of treatment are family and group therapy. Group services are provided to victims, youth offenders and parents.

Provides intensive case management for those on parole or post-release control who have a severe mental illness. Offers the services of social workers, psychiatric nurses, a psychiatrist, and a parole officer. Maintains frequent interaction with client and monitors their medications, basic needs, and housing and employment situations, and helps them find needed treatment and services.

Offers educational, cognitive and behavioral structured group counseling services for ex-offenders.

Food servers assist in the preparation, serving, and clean up of meals, as well as other tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, stocking shelves and more.

Provides therapeutically specific services to youth who are demonstrating sexually inappropriate, abusive or offending behaviors. Youth are taught to identify, alter and reshape self-destructive patterns of thoughts and behaviors. Services include group therapy, individual and family counseling and community-based management services. All youth are served but moderate to high risk youth will receive two group sessions per week, an in-home community based worker and possibly individual counseling.

Offers temporary paid employment, pre-job guidance, and linkage to training and educational programs. Clients are employed in work crews that the agency operates, serving transit agencies, housing authorities, parks departments, etc. Provides an employment program for justice system involved/formerly incarcerated individuals. Clients start with a paid orientation and receive pre-employment workshop, resume and interview help, temporary job placement, and job search assistance and receive daily pay and daily feedback on performance. Goal is to transition the participant from the program into the mainstream workforce. Cash incentives are given as clients reach milestones and support is given for up a year after the client is placed in employment outside of the program.

Provides a service for individuals to locate a detainee who is currently in ICE custody or who has been in U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s custody for more than 48 hours.

Provides substance abuse assessment and management services for alcohol and drug-involved offenders as an alternative or supplement to existing criminal justice sanctions. Offers supportive services such as case management, urinalysis testing, intensive outpatient drug abuse treatment, ongoing recovery services, and court advocacy. Monitors the offenders progress and makes reports to the court.

Provides an educational program about alcohol use and abuse for first-time offenders of an alcohol-related violation.

Provides outpatient treatment support services for the Cleveland Drug Court docket. First-time felony level offenders who are arrested for possession or drug abuse (but not selling) can plead guilty to a misdemeanor. But in doing so, they agree to enter this program. Upon successful completion of the program, their criminal record will be expunged.
