Ohio Department Of Amvets Service Foundation, Inc. Scholarship Award | Amvets National Service Foundation

Provides opportunities for advanced education for veterans or dependents of veterans who desire to attend an institution of higher learning. Scholarships are awarded in the total amount of $1000, payable in full and only applied toward the student's tuition. A total of ten scholarships will be awarded each year. This is a one-time scholarship.

Id Card Proving Military Discharge - Veterans | Geauga County Recorder

Keeps copies of discharge papers (DD-214) for Veterans. After the papers have been recorded, the client will receive a certified copy, and the original back. Additional copies may be obtained in the future. Records are not available to the general public. Office can also issue a wallet-sized card with photo proving they have honorable discharge papers filed with the county.

Provides audiological (hearing) assessemnts for veterans. An audiologist will make a clinical determination on the need for hearing aids and/or other hearing assistive devices. If hearing aids are recommended, the hearing aids, repairs, and future batteries will be at no charge to the veteran as long as they maintain Veterans Affairs (VA) eligibility for care.

Veterans Compensation And Pension Assistance | Darke County Veterans Services

Provides accredited service officers who know the requirements of the Department of Veterans Affairs compensation and pension programs and will assist veterans to complete paperwork and obtain the benefits to which they are entitled. Will aid with the preparation of forms, documentation of claims, proper submission of claims to VA and other follow-up agencies, and obtaining records (military and medical). Callers will be referred to the county Job and Family Services office for assistance with unemployment forms.

Military And First Responders Center | Pegasus Farm

Provides an experiential habilitation or therapy program in which the horse serves as a co-facilitator or co-therapist. Equestrian therapy provides an experience with horses that fosters growth, communication skills, self-esteem, self-awareness, healing, and personal transformation. Clients learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with the horses and then discussing feelings, behaviors, and patterns. Services are provided on a 20-acre horse farm. The program is provided in partnership with Walsh University and area Rotary clubs.

Home Loans - Veterans | United States Department Of Veterans Affairs

Provides a home loan guaranty benefit and other housing-related programs to help veterans buy, build, repair, retain, or adapt a home for their own personal occupancy. Veterans Affairs (VA) Home Loans are provided by private lenders, such as banks and mortgage companies. VA guarantees a portion of the loan, enabling the lender to provide more favorable terms to veterans. In most cases, the mortgage is low interest and no down payment or mortgage insurance payments required. Will provide mortgage counseling to participating veterans who are having difficulties with paying their mortgage or who may already be in default. Mortgage counselors will provide information concerning the foreclosure process and what the veteran's rights and responsibilities are in that situation. Will attempt to seek solutions with the lender to help the veteran keep the home and will take complaints from veterans against their mortgage provider.
