Provides transportation for veterans to the following VA medical centers: * Wade Park VA Medical Center * Parma Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Canton Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Akron Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Mansfield Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Compensation and Pension Exams are scheduled as required On occasion, the VA will contract services to private physicians. If needed, office can provide transportation. On a case-by-case basis, will provide door-to-door service to any veteran who is too disabled to meet the van in Ashland. Each veteran in need of a companion to travel to the appointment is allowed to do so provided it is medically necessary with written notice from the VA clinic or doctor.

Provides chiropractic services for active military, Veterans, and their families. Chiropractors throughout the United States treat at least one (1) Armed Services member per week at no charge.

Offers general mental health counseling and for specific issues: sexual trauma counseling related to military service (military sexual assault), post traumatic stress disorder due to combat service, veteran reintegration counseling, couseling for victims of spousal/partner abuse, and bereavement couseling. Counseling may be offered in individual and group settings. Does not deal with legal issues.

Offers an outpatient program to veterans who carry a psychiatric diagnosis in addition to their diagnosis of substance dependence.

Offers a network of support for military families in all branches. Provides information and referrals on education, counseling, financial assistance and legal assistance. Offers information on benefits and entitlements before, during and after deployment. Also offers support and assistance to service members transitioning to and from active duty. Assistance includes information and referrals regarding Veteran Benefits, employment resources, emergency financial assistance and other deployment cycle transition issues.

Provides a program to help recently-discharged veterans make a successful transition from military life to civilian life. The program is peer-guided in connecting transitioning service members to community-specific resources at their desired location. While being involved in this program veterans are able to request monetary assistance with housing, utilities, food, and clothing.

Provides assistance with food, shelter (rent or mortgage), utility bills (gas and electric), principle car payments, and other needed services for veterans, active duty military, and dependent survivors. In some cases, may assist with indigent burial. Assistance is in the form of vouchers. Amount of assistance is based on demonstrated need. Also available to make community presentations about these services.

Keeps copies of DD-214 discharge papers and NGB form 22 (for Army National Guard or Air National Guard) on file for veterans and issues a wallet-sized card with photo proving they have honorable or "other than dishonorable" discharge papers filed with the county. Card can be used for veterans' services and for services that are discounted for veterans.

Provides and trains individuals in the use of guide dogs for Veterans. The guide dogs have been trained to help individuals who have visual impairments or blindness increase their mobility and independence and/or maximize their ability to communicate effectively.

Provides information and referral on services that would benefit service members (from all branches of the military) and their families.

Offers a tax reduction program which provides Jefferson County homeowners with relief on a portion of their home value. With homestead, eligible homeowners receive an exemption on a portion of appraised value from taxation for a single family home. Eligible military Veterans receive an additional exemption. Will answer questions and assist with completing forms regarding the reduction.

Provides inpatient and outpatient detoxification for those with substance use disorder problems. Can be for narcotics and/or alcohol.

Provides weekday transportation for Veterans to and from the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital in Wade Park, Parma VA Clinic, and the VA Clinic in Sheffield Village. Offers a morning shuttle to Wade Park and Parma. Provides home pick-ups for appointments at the VA Clinic in Sheffield Village. Offers wheelchair accessible transportation upon request.

Provides limited emergency financial assistance with housing and utility costs to eligible veterans and their families.

Provides a medical information line where Veteran patients and their caregivers can talk with a Registered Nurse. The nurse will listen, answer questions, and help the client decide what they need to do.

Offers door-to-door, assisted transportation shared-ride service. Transportation services are provided throughout Lake County and to limited medical facilities in Cleveland.

Operates both a general and surgical hospital which provides comprehensive medical care. Provides medical records pertaining to services administered by the VA Medical system, and can direct patients to their primary care physician, if needed.

Provides transportation to and from Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities for veterans unable to afford or arrange transport on their own.

Provides comprehensive physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual care delivered by an interdisciplinary team of professionals with expertise in end-of-life care. Treatment goals focus on patient comfort when cure is no longer possible and life expectancy is measured in days, weeks or months rather than years.

Provides transportation to and from Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities for Veterans (Cleveland VA Medical Center, Parma VA Outpatient Clinic, Akron VA Outpatient Clinic, Canton VA Outpatient Clinic) and Compensation and Pension (C&P) Exams fo Veterans unable to arrange transport on their own.
