Provides a home loan guaranty benefit and other housing-related programs to help veterans buy, build, repair, retain, or adapt a home for their own personal occupancy. Veterans Affairs (VA) Home Loans are provided by private lenders, such as banks and mortgage companies. VA guarantees a portion of the loan, enabling the lender to provide more favorable terms to veterans. In most cases, the mortgage is low interest and no down payment or mortgage insurance payments required. Will provide mortgage counseling to participating veterans who are having difficulties with paying their mortgage or who may already be in default. Mortgage counselors will provide information concerning the foreclosure process and what the veteran's rights and responsibilities are in that situation. Will attempt to seek solutions with the lender to help the veteran keep the home and will take complaints from veterans against their mortgage provider.

Offers Veterans and eligible beneficiaries the opportunity to purchase dental insurance at a reduced cost. Contracts with certain dental insurance providers to offer dental services to eligible veterans and their dependents. Offered plans will vary and may include diagnostic, preventative, surgical, emergency and endodontic/restorative treatment.

Offers door-to-door, assisted transportation shared-ride service. Transportation services are provided throughout Lake County and to limited medical facilities in Cleveland.

Offers health services such as: general gynecology exams, general obstetrics, pre-natal care, birth control, breast exams, pap tests, and pregnancy testing. Offers mammograms.

Provides information on VA benefits; completes VA forms, contacts other agencies that assist veterans.

Provides transportation to the area VA medical facilities. Can provide transportation to other area hospitals and clinics when proper need is shown. Can transport spouses/relatives to visit Veterans who have been admitted for inpatient care at a VA hospital. Should call to discuss special needs.

Loans crutches, walkers and sometimes wheelchairs to those who need them. Availability of items will depend on what the agency has on hand.

Assists veterans in filing claims, applying for benefits, and receiving emegency assistance as necessary.

Operation Mission Insight is dedicated to assisting businesses, educators, and other organizations within communities to help gain an understanding of military culture and understanding invisible wounds. Through personalized consulting services, Operation Mission Insight will assist organizations to develop and implement support programs tailored to meet the needs of their Veterans, military connected employees, and military connected students. Provides veterans with assistance in accessing their VA educational benefits by providing counseling on how to file for benefits and for what benefits the student veteran is eligible. Assists student veterans in certifying their VA educational benefits each semester. Provides student veterans the opportunity to gain college credit for their military experience. Provides student veterans with veteran specific academic and transition counseling.

Provides accredited service officers who know the requirements of the Department of Veterans Affairs' compensation and pension programs and who will assist veterans in completing paperwork and obtaining the benefits to which they are entitled. Will aid with the preparation of forms, documentation of claims, proper submission of claims to VA and other follow-up agencies and obtaining records (military and medical). Callers will be referred to the county Job and Family Services office for assistance with unemployment forms.

Provides financial and other forms of assistance to veterans, their dependents and survivors. Major benefits include veterans’ compensation, veterans’ pension, survivors’ benefits, rehabilitation, employment assistance, education assistance, home loan guaranties, health insurance, burial benefits and life insurance coverage.

Provides direct temporary emergency financial aid for Richland County veterans and their dependents who have met with an unexpected hardship.

Provides services to low income Veterans and their families. Services include; case management, assistance obtaining VA benefits, housing counseling, landlord mediation and in some circumstances, financial assistance that may include; rental assistance, security deposits, utility payment assistance, moving costs, legal assistance, shallow subsidy, and emergency housing assistance.

Provides assistance for veterans with employment barriers. Helps with job placement assistance as well as employment readiness training such as resume building and military experience conversion.

Provides a program that helps veterans create bonds with other veterans through phone calls and a website.

Provides temporary financial assistance to those experiencing economic hardship. Covers the following needs: * Mortgage/rent * Food * Utilities * Personal hygiene

Assessment of needs. Teach, practice monitor skills and connect individuals to available community resources. Activities of Daily Living: personal hygeine, medication management and monitoring, school functioning and care coordination. Individual bases services provided at this time: behavior management, impulse control, focus, attention, following rules, responsibility, communication, frustration tolerance. Social and emotional learning: bullying, conflict resolution, problem solving, friends, social media safety, boundary setting, coping skills, anger management strategies, grief education, managing time, boredom, distressing thoughts and feelings, sibling relationships. Independent Living Skills: job searching skills, resume formulation education, interview role play, advocating for one's needs, learning and navigating community resources.

Provides methadone maintenance treatment for eligible veterans.

Provides transportation for veterans to the following VA medical centers: * Wade Park VA Medical Center * Parma Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Canton Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Akron Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Mansfield Community Based Outpatient Clinic * Compensation and Pension Exams are scheduled as required On occasion, the VA will contract services to private physicians. If needed, office can provide transportation. On a case-by-case basis, will provide door-to-door service to any veteran who is too disabled to meet the van in Ashland. Each veteran in need of a companion to travel to the appointment is allowed to do so provided it is medically necessary with written notice from the VA clinic or doctor.

Provides a community based outpatient clinic for veterans. It provides the following services: * Dietetics * Home-based Care * Laboratory * Optometry * Optical Shop * Outpatient Mental Health, (General Mental Health Treatment, Specialized Substance Abuse Treatment, Specialized Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Treatment, and Outreach & Referral Services) * Physical Therapy * Podiatry * Primary Care * Prosthetics and * Women’s Clinic

Clients begin by meeting a veterans services specialist to help the veteran identify barriers to their employment success. Specialists help veterans identify and access resources that will help them overcome their barriers. Focus is on self-reliance. Services provided include resume and cover letter preparation, employment related licensing or certification, job search assistance and other employment related services.

Offers veterans assistance with obtaining benefits, completing forms, and determining eligibility for benefits. Assistance is provided by Veteran Service Officers from various veterans' service organizations.

Provides substance abuse assessment, testing and referral for treatment.

The Veteran's Service Office provides assistance with filling out all forms and obtaining needed documents for claims. Informing veterans of their benefits and rights as veterans is also a service provided. Offers limited financial assistance to eligible veterans and their families.
