Provides a pet food giveaway to Veterans in need of food for their companion animals.

Provides first month's rent and security deposit to help veterans establish permanent housing. Will also help with rent to help veterans stay in their current housing. Clients are provided with benefits assistance, landlord/tenant assistance, and case management to ensure that they are connected to available community resources and VA benefits. Clients do not have to stay in the county they reside in (may move from county to county).

Provides photo ID cards to military veterans who record their original or certified discharge documents in the Recorder's office.

Provides information on VA benefits, medical care and research, including assistance for Persian Gulf veterans on an electronic bulletin board available 24 hours a day. VA-ONLINE can be accessed by callers with internet access.

Assists veterans obtain copies of their military records and decorations. Provides the necessary SF-180 form. Office also has the emergency phone numbers for all branches of the military in case a veteran's records are needed for medical care. Assists veterans in requesting a 'review of discharge' to modify their discharge status; for example, from 'general' to 'honorable'.

Provides Veterans and their families an overview of the federal and state benefits available to them. The VA can provide health care, education, insurance, help with buying a home, funding to veterans disabled due to their service, burial in a national cemetery, and sometimes all of the above for family members of service members and veterans. Some states provide additional benefits, such as property tax reductions or additional educational benefits. Once a year event sponsored by the Veterans Services Commission and Lutheran Social Services. Free services will be provided, including: Medical screenings, Legal aid, Haircuts, Clothing, Food, Lunch, Giveaways ,Entertainment and Access to local employment and social services agencies.

Provides a national network of mental health professional volunteers who have agreed to provide an hour a week of free mental health counseling. Availability may vary by area, but counseling can be for: anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, sexual health and intimacy concerns, bereavement counseling, brain injuries, child and adolescent counseling, critical incident stress debriefing, divorce, family issues, gambling addiction, gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender issues, general counseling, marriage counseling, parent education, pastoral counseling, postpartum counseling, sexual assault counseling, sexual/love addiction counseling, substance use disorder counseling.

Provides general counseling services, comprehensive psychiatric treatment, counseling and case management services. Range of services may vary by site. Some sites also provide medication monitoring.

Provides transportation to the area VA medical facilities. Can provide transportation to other area hospitals and clinics when proper need is shown. Can transport spouses/relatives to visit Veterans who have been admitted for inpatient care at a VA hospital. Should call to discuss special needs.

Provides professional behavioral health therapy to children, adults and families through horses, counseling and nature.

Provides veterans and their dependents United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) accredited Veterans Service Officers (VSOs) to assist them in understanding VA benefits and in filing claims. Provides services such as explaining benefits, filling out forms, forwarding claims for processing and representing veterans in appeals.

Provides employment and reentry services to help veterans who have been recently released from incarceration. Clients are linked to appropriate community services based on their situation and need. Clients in this program may receive limited cash assistance to help them become self sufficient. The program is a 16-week peer/mentor guided assistance in connecting to resource providers, while receiving guidance that promotes pro-social behavior. The program is goal-oriented to lead clients to a healthy, productive lifestyle. While participating in this program veterans are able to request monetary assistance with housing, utilities, food, and clothing.

Offers a network of support for military families in all branches. Provides information and referrals on education, counseling, financial assistance and legal assistance. Offers information on benefits and entitlements before, during and after deployment. Also offers support and assistance to service members transitioning to and from active duty. Assistance includes information and referrals regarding Veteran Benefits, employment resources, emergency financial assistance and other deployment cycle transition issues.

Provides comprehensive health care and case management to the returning Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan)OEF/Operation Iraqi Freedom/OIF/OND veterans in a 13 county area in Central Ohio. Services are provided on an outpatient basis.

Provides opportunities for advanced education for veterans or dependents of veterans who desire to attend an institution of higher learning. Scholarships are awarded in the total amount of $1000, payable in full and only applied toward the student's tuition. A total of ten scholarships will be awarded each year. This is a one-time scholarship.

Provides emergency financial assistance to eligible Veterans and their spouses, dependent children, and surviving spouses who have demonstrated a need. Assistance may include rent, mortgage, utility bill payments, and personal hygiene items. Makes determination on a case-by-case basis by staff.

Offers automated texts to provide encouragement, advice and tips to help smokers quit smoking, vaping, or using tobacco..

Provides and trains individuals in the use of guide dogs for Veterans. The guide dogs have been trained to help individuals who have visual impairments or blindness increase their mobility and independence and/or maximize their ability to communicate effectively.

Offers a tax reduction program which provides Tuscarawas County homeowners with relief on a portion of their home value. With homestead, eligible homeowners receive an exemption on a portion of appraised value from taxation for a single family home. Eligible military Veterans receive an additional exemption. Will answer questions and assist with completing forms regarding the reduction.

Offers counseling services to veterans who have served in a combat zone or experienced sexual trauma. Services include individual, group and family or marital counseling. Offers sexual trauma, drug and alcohol and bereavement counseling. Offers assistance with benefits and employment guidance.
