Provides volunteer attorneys that offer legal assistance to personnel of the armed forces who are enlisted in the reserves or National Guard and are currently activated, or are on active duty. Assists enlisted personnel and their families in exercising their rights under the Soldiers' and Sailors Civil Relief Act. Also, will provide legal assistance for wills, powers of attorney, living wills, and durable power of attorney for health care. Will not assist with legal matters such as divorce and child custody (does not represent in court).
Offers educational benefits to eligible dependents of certain veterans. Generally provides up to 45 months of benefits to eligible participants. However, some eligible dependents may be able to receive up to 81 months of GI Bill benefits, if they qualify for multiple benefit programs. Can be used for degree and certificate programs, apprenticeships and on the job training. Other educational programs may be authorized under certain circumstances.
Provides opportunities for advanced education for veterans or dependents of veterans who desire to attend an institution of higher learning. Scholarships are awarded in the total amount of $1000, payable in full and only applied toward the student's tuition. A total of ten scholarships will be awarded each year. This is a one-time scholarship.

In certain circumstances, provides assistance with paying for rent, rent deposit, mobile home lot rental fees, and utility payments (gas, electric, and water). Will help with transportation expenses (which is usually in the form of bus passes). Does not help with property taxes, car insurance, or car payments. Will consider other emergency needs that veterans and their eligible dependents may have on a case-by-case basis.

Contacts deployed military personnel on behalf of families experiencing an event which requires an urgent communication such as a death, illness, or birth of a child. Offers emergency leave verification and basic information and referral. Provides access to emergency funds available through the various military aid societies (Army Emergency Relief, Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, Air Force Aid Society, and the Coast Guard Mutual Assistance). The funds can be used for a variety of purposes such as medical care, car repair, emergency travel and utility bill payment assistance. Assistance may come in the form of an interest free loan, a direct grant, or some combination of the two.

Provides transitioning active duty service members training in how to start and grow a business. Offers a 2 day Introduction to Entrepreneurship workshop taught at a local military instillation which will provide an education on business fundamentals and an analysis on the feasibility and sustainability of the service member's business concept. Also offers an 8 week Foundations of Entrepreneurship course taught online via the University of Syracuse in which the service member will learn the fundamentals of developing a business plan.

Offers two separate programs: the Program of General Caregiver Support Services (PGCSS) and the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) which provide support and benefits for veterans and their family caregivers. PGCSS program provides peer support mentoring, skills training, coaching, telephone support, online programs, and referrals to available resources to caregivers of Veterans. PCAFC offers enhanced clinical support and services for caregivers of eligible Veterans who have a serious injury (or illness) and require in-person personal care services among other requirements.
