Provides transitioning active duty service members training in how to start and grow a business. Offers a 2 day Introduction to Entrepreneurship workshop taught at a local military instillation which will provide an education on business fundamentals and an analysis on the feasibility and sustainability of the service member's business concept. Also offers an 8 week Foundations of Entrepreneurship course taught online via the University of Syracuse in which the service member will learn the fundamentals of developing a business plan.

Provides counseling to veterans and the families of veterans regarding their VA education benefits with the assistance of an on site US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) VetSuccess Counselor. Provides counseling on making the transition from military to academic life and offers referrals to other federal, state and county veteran's organizations. Provides counseling on the opportunity to receive college credit at Cleveland State University for military experience.

Offers two separate programs: the Program of General Caregiver Support Services (PGCSS) and the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) which provide support and benefits for veterans and their family caregivers. PGCSS program provides peer support mentoring, skills training, coaching, telephone support, online programs, and referrals to available resources to caregivers of Veterans. PCAFC offers enhanced clinical support and services for caregivers of eligible Veterans who have a serious injury (or illness) and require in-person personal care services among other requirements.

Provides a national network of mental health professional volunteers who have agreed to provide an hour a week of free mental health counseling. Availability may vary by area, but counseling can be for: anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, sexual health and intimacy concerns, bereavement counseling, brain injuries, child and adolescent counseling, critical incident stress debriefing, divorce, family issues, gambling addiction, gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender issues, general counseling, marriage counseling, parent education, pastoral counseling, postpartum counseling, sexual assault counseling, sexual/love addiction counseling, substance use disorder counseling.

Phone agent will refer to or provide information about Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits and services as well as other community resources outside of the VA system that may help with the client's needs. Provides information on all aspects of military life at no cost to active duty, Guard and reserve service members and their families. Information includes, but is not limited to, deployment, reunion, relationship, grief, spouse employment and education, parenting and child care. Offers consultations on a number of issues such as spouse education and career opportunities, issues specific to families with a member with special needs, health coaching, financial support and resources. Also offers non-medical counseling services requiring short-term attention, including everyday stressors, deployment and reintegration concerns, parenting, grief and loss, and marital problems as well as assistance with financial management, taxes, career services and health and wellness.

Assists veterans in a variety of ways. Provides food and clothing vouchers in emergency situations. In certain circumstances, provides assistance with paying for rent, rent deposit, mobile home lot rental fees, and utility payments (gas, electric, and water). Will help with transportation expenses (which is usually in the form of bus passes). Does not help with property taxes, car insurance, or car payments. Will consider other emergency needs that veterans and their eligible dependents may have on a case-by-case basis.

Matches children in need of friendship and adult role model with caring volunteers. Offers various mentor programs including Community-Based Programs and School/Site-Based Programs. - Community-Based Programs include Big Couples, Mentoring Children of Prisoners, Mentoring Children of Military Families, and Bigs in Blue. - School/Site-Based Program include Lunch Buddies, High School Bigs, and Sports Buddies programs. - Additional programming includes Pathways to Success - tutoring, mentoring and family engagement programming and Big Futures - workforce and college readiness program for high school students.

Offers financial assistance to military members and their families who are in need of emergency financial assistance.

Provides temporary housing for veterans and active-duty military personnel who are receiving treatment at a military or Veterans Affairs (VA) medical center and their families.

In some cases, may assist with indigent burial. Assistance is in the form of vouchers. Amount of assistance is based on demonstrated need. Also available to make community presentations about these services. Does not assist with reconnection fees for utilities.

Provides emergency financial assistance for rent, mortgage, utilities, public transportation, medication and food vouchers through partnerships with other providers. Also provides VA Benefit Advocacy to help veterans and their families identify and access benefits from the Department of Veteran Affairs for which they qualify. Also provides official State of Ohio Veterans ID card that proves that the veteran has honorable discharge papers filed with the county. Veterans may also use the card for discounts with area businesses.
