The goal of the Athens City-County Health Department’s immunization program is to reduce and eliminate vaccine-preventable diseases in children and adults.
We offer the following immunizations:

Under the umbrella of Employment Navigation KCBDD can coordinate employment-related services for those with DD with several agencies in the community. Primary partners are Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities and local employment vendors who provide supports that may include, helping complete an application, helping write a resume, going to the interview with the individual, helping them learn the job, or talking to their employer to help them keep a job. A Supported Employment provider or job coach can also work closely with the individual's team to help identify and strengthen the qualities that employers look for in their employees. There are also opportunities for career discovery, development, work trials, assessments and summer youth work programming

The Center Adult Mental Health and Crisis Services offers client focused behavioral health services. Services are provided to adults 18 years and older by licensed mental health professionals. Individual and group therapy is offered in addition to medication evaluation and management. Clients and their significant others are encouraged to actively participate in developing their treatment plan and goals and give input to ongoing care.
Services Include:
- Screening - Determines the client’s eligibility for admission or referral.
- Intake - The initial administrative procedures for admission.
- Assessment - The procedure by which a therapist develops a diagnostic evaluation of the client’s mental health conditions in order to provide an integrated approach to treatment planning based on the client’s strengths, weaknesses, and identified problems and needs.
- Treatment Planning - Process by which the therapist and the client identify
and rank problems needing resolution; establish agreed upon immediate and long-term goals; and decide upon a treatment process and the resources to be utilized.
- Therapy - Provides individuals, groups or families an opportunity to explore mental health issues. Licensed mental health therapists and social workers are prepared to assist clients to cope with a wide variety of issues and concerns.

This department supervises adults on probation who have been referred by the Clark County Common Pleas Court. Probation is a process utilized by the court to attempt a rehabilitation of selected offenders through supervision and treatment within the community in lieu of being sentenced to the Ohio State Penitentiary,

Outpatient Services provide effective treatment and therapy services for adults age 18 and older who are abusing or addicted to alcohol and/or other drugs. Licensed chemical dependency professionals provide both individual and group therapy services to those with a primary drug and alcohol diagnosis. Services are also available for those individuals with a dual diagnosis of substance abuse and mental illness. New Beginnings Alcohol & Drug Treatment Services utilizes Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) in conjunction with twelve-step program principles for recovery, to assist those with co-occurring disorders.
Inpatient Services provide residential treatment for adult men and women who are seeking help with an alcohol and/or drug addiction. Residents live at the facility which provides a safe and supportive environment for the course of the program. Residents participate in recovery oriented individual and group therapy, education groups, case management services, housing and employment services, and 12-Step meetings. Mental and physical health care needs are also addressed during treatment. Women’s issues are recognized as significant; pregnant females are eligible for services. Family programming is available for all clients. Upon completion of residential programming, persons are transferred to outpatient services.
