Coordinates 10 neighborhood associations in the Lima City area. Works with residents, churches, educators, businesses and organizations to bring the community together to address concerns and issues that affect their neighborhoods.

Provides help to community residents and organizations engaged in community building activities. Grants range from $100 - $250. Grants are intended to encourage health, safety, neighborliness, civic participation, volunteerism, community pride and activism in the North End of Mansfield (census tracts 6, 7 and 16). Three or more residents can apply for funds; Two or more organizations can apply for funds on a matching basis. Terms may change.

Conducts a monthly meeting to discuss issues and programs affecting the blind and vision impaired.

Uses volunteer committees to identify health and human service needs, work to address community problems, to distribute funds for programs, and promotes understanding of and collaboration with the public health and human service sectors through the public policy committee and other community building efforts.

Provides assistance in organizing activities that facilitate and build productive interdependent personal relationships among the residents, businesses, stakeholders, service providers, and politicians and empower them to work together and develop leadership capacity to solve problems and to achieve tangible, measurable and lasting results of mutual benefits to the neighborhood. Current neighborhood-wide issue committees that mobilize community members to act on issues that affect them include: schools, environment, safety, garden and green space, and housing/planning.

Provides community development block grant funds on a competitive basis every three years for projects aimed at housing and economic development infrastructure and parks and recreation largely in low and moderate income target areas.

Provides assistance to citizen groups in planning the most effective ways to approach local officials and others regarding issues that affect their neighborhoods.

Forges strategic alliances among education, business, civic and community leaders that increase the educational aspirations and achievement of all Summit County children.

Works to reactivate existing block clubs and to build new ones, with an aim towards helping citizens express their thoughts effectively to policy makers. Provides training on basic skills like running meetings, getting neighbors out to events, establishing boards and by-laws, identifying issues and carrying out plans to improve a neighborhood's quality of life.

Operates programs United Way functions including financial resources development and community partnerships.

The Miami County Continuum of Care promotes collaboration among social service providers and community stake holders working to improve the lives of individuals and families.

Promotes the rights of workers by educating the broader community about workplace abuses, helping workers improve employment standards, and supporting workers' rights to organize. Offers educational programs, speakers, and printed materials about workers' issues, such as workers' rights and free trade. Offers workers the opportunity to report abuse and violations of wage theft and other worker issues that may be system wide. Does not provide direct services for individuals, but does offer membership for persons interested in supporting workers rights.

Assists neighborhood groups in the development of community vegetable gardens on vacant lots. Includes help with organizational planning and garden site design. Also offers educational workshops, access to resources, use of equipment, such as rototillers, etc. and a communications network.

Assists neighborhood residents in organizing around common issues and in formulating and implementing plans to address community concerns with policymakers. Helps coordinate and develop block clubs and provides services to residents. Provides services aimed at preventing crime and juvenile delinquency. Service includes community-trained mediators who can mediate neighborhood disputes in eligible areas.

Works with area block clubs that have come together around safety, housing, schools, and other issues that affect residents. Provides training and technical assistance with organizing skills where requested.

Provides assistance with resolving problems and information on upcoming neighborhood projects. Issues covered include parking, safety, development, and access to city programs.

Provides city government community development basic services to the citizens of Cincinnati, including fire and rescue, police protection, solid waste management, recreational activities, green space management, community and economic development, water and sewer management, and maintenance of the public infrastructure

Provides community development programs, to help solve local problems by assisting community leaders, building of local organizations and groups, assessing local needs, identifying assets and capacities and bringing together diverse elements to work together for the well being of the entire community

Facilitates and teaches a process of moderating discussions that enables diverse citizens to dialogue about issues of shared concern. Provides opportunities to develop relationships of trust and determine common ground. Offers logistical support to assist with implementation of agreed upon actions by participants.

Assists residents in solving problems and communicating concerns about safety and other neighborhood-related issues to the appropriate municipal departments. Meets periodically with residents of particular buildings or streets.

The purpose of Neighborhood Development/Community Organizing is to revitalize a designated neighborhood/residential area by empowering residents to make positive changes that can be self-sustained by the neighborhood long-term. All initiatives for neighborhood organizing are resident-driven for maximum support, implementation and follow-through.

Provides assistance with coordinating community and street club meetings. Service includes providing a volleyball and net and barricades to close down streets for neighborhood block parties. Also works to resolve disputes (such as noise complaints) between neighbors.

Through public policy work, Medicare addresses consumer issues and concerns on statewide and national levels and monitors changes in legislation and Medicare coverage guidelines.
