Provides low-interest loans for renters, homeowners, and small business owners for physical property damages that result from a natural disaster that has been declared as such by this agency. The area DOES NOT have to be declared a disaster by FEMA. Loans cover dwelling and personal property (personal property only for renters). Loans are up to $200,000 for home repair, up to $40,000 to replace personal property and up to 2 million for small businesses and nonprofits.

Businesses and private nonprofits are eligible to apply for business physical disaster loans and may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets.
Homeowners and renters are eligible to apply for home and personal property loans and may borrow up to $100,000 to replace or repair personal property, such as clothing, furniture, cars, and appliances. Homeowners may apply for up to $500,000 to replace or repair their primary residence.
The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Nov. 12, 2025. The deadline to return economic injury applications is June 12, 2026.

If your small business or private, nonprofit organization has suffered economic injury, regardless of physical damage, and is located in a declared disaster area, you may be eligible for financial assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Economic injury disaster loans provide necessary working capital until normal operations resume after a physical disaster. The law restricts economic injury disaster loans to small businesses only.
