Responsible for warehousing, collecting, sorting and packaging donations during a declared disaster

Brings together faith-based and civic organizations to provide long term recovery assistance to those suffering losses that are not covered by insurance or assistance from other organizations. After a declared disaster and when activated, engages a trained caseworker to assist in resolving the unmet needs of the surviving community. Efforts include meeting the need for ongoing coordination among communities providing volunteer, financial, spiritual, physical, and/or psychological support for people whose lives have been effected by a disaster. Provides collaboration leadership in the discernment of long-term needs for recovery and rehabilitation that can be most effectively met or assisted by the community. Provides advocacy for people most vulnerable to having their needs overlooked in public recovery planning processes.

Coordinates and provides emergency assistance in times of disaster. Provides preparedness information about major disasters and large-scale emergencies. Coordinates with other agencies in disaster situations. Develops action plans for emergency response. Sets up temporary emergency shelters in the community during disasters.

Provides disaster relief and recovery services for individuals and families affected by disasters. Services may include financial assistance for emergency food, clothing and shelter. May provide assistance with security deposits and long-term recovery supplies, as needed. Crisis counseling is offered to disaster victims and their families. Also provides community disaster preparedness planning and collects monetary donations in the event of a disaster.

Provides food, clothing, and shelter to disaster victims including disasters when homes have been destroyed or made unlivable due to physical calamity such as fire, flood, and windstorm. Offers general emergency assistance to disaster victims.

Provides a temporary shelter with sleeping accommodations for individuals whose homes have been made temporarily unsafe due to natural disaster. Accepts donations of food, water, blankets, and personal hygiene items for victims during times of need.

Accepts new, unused donations to assist with international disaster relief such as: first aid supplies, liquid baby formula, bandages, hydrogen peroxide, crutches, wheelchairs, diapers and much more (visit website for complete list). Cannot accept prescription medicines or items contaminated by direct patient contact or expired items. Donated items are never resold. Does not provide direct domestic medical aid.
