Accepting and distributing donations of items for flood relief in Orrville, OH. Major flooding occured Aug 8, 2024. Asking the community to bring clothing (kids and adults), food, hygiene products, gift cards, essential household items, new socks and underwear, or cleaning supplies. * Program provided in partnership with Orrville Area United Way. **NOTE** Clothing donations not currently needed due to high supply of donations. For any further donations, please provide cleaning supplies, hygiene products, and food.

Provides emergency assistance to those in need after a disaster.

Program provides disaster relief in the form of monetary, in-kind donations and volunteers.

Provides immediate service to the disaster clients and/or local authorities in any disaster such as fire, flooding, tornado, or chemical spill.

Provides 24-hour disaster relief services including immediate financial assistance for Lorain County residents affected by home fires, flooding, tornadoes, and other disasters.

Working to stabilize families/individuals impacted by a disaster, the American Red Cross provides financial assistance for food, clothing, shelter, and if needed, emergency medical supplies and mental health services to those victims of disasters (single family fires, explosions, flooding, tornadoes, etc). These on-site services are provided within 2-hrs of any event. During the recovery phase of a disaster, the Red Cross also provides clean-up supplies, household items, and may include replacing work tools, eyeglasses, prescriptions, rent and deposit assistance. Moreover, during the recovery phase of a disaster, the Red Cross often partners with other United Way funded agencies and other social service providers to help provide a continuum of care, enabling the families to resume work, school and other 'normal' activities, by providing immediate "income". We also install FREE Smoke Alarms as a part of our efforts to reduce deaths and injuries from fires. Our Pillowcase Project, helps youth understand disasters, and prepare their own Pillowcase if they have to flee their home.

Emergency disaster mobile canteens respond to local emergencies and calls from fire, police, disaster, civil defense and other groups.
