Provides environmental advocacy promoting environmental sustainability and drives collaborative efforts through community involvement programs.

Providing environmental services; Community Beautification Awards, Environmental Improvement Groups, Litter Control. Encourages individual participation in waste reduction, litter prevention and the beautification of Middletown communities.

Inspects and monitors drainage and sediment regulations on construction sites in Cuyahoga County in order to prevent pollution from storm water runoff and soil erosion. Offers technical assistance to developers, land owners, and municipalities in order to ensure compliance with state and federal permits such as: road layouts, stream, and wetlands protection, proper stream crossings, slope stability, natural resource inventory, and suggested site layout. Conducts and makes available county-wide soil surveys which may be of use to potential property buyers who need information on potential pollutant and/or water table information and to landowners when looking to site a building or before entering a lease for oil and gas drilling. Provides Watershed Coordinators who work in specific watershed areas to evaluate problems and then implement action plans to improve the watershed by working with all stakeholders of the watershed area. Additional information may also be provided regarding soil types, soil health and soil assessment.

Provides for the restoration and protection of the little Miami river corridor. corresponds and meets with local, state and federal agencies landowners and developers to review threats to and afford protection for the river, acquires new nature preserves

Offers practical ways for members to impact environmental issues to protect public health and improve environmental quality including signing petitions, writing letters, making phone calls, talking to neighbors, and speaking out at community meetings.

Advocates and educates on behalf of the national park, reaching out to people of all ages and businesses to build membership, provide volunteer opportunities, coordinate efforts with other partner organizations, increase fundraising, and encourage enjoyment of and participation in the many opportunities available in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Notifies residents when air pollution levels are high in Central Ohio and provides guidance on how to protect their health and the health of their loved ones. Works to improve air quality in Central Ohio through education and collaboration with local governments and businesses to reduce health-impacting emissions.

Responsible for overseeing the City of Toledo's Brownfield Program; also serves as an environmental consultant for the City's other departments and divisions; services include performing, coordinating and overseeing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments for the city-owned parcels and city brownfield redevelopment pressures off of underdeveloped, open land, and both improves and protect the environment.

Program assist with technology, marketing and educational support - protecting Ohio's position in the global marketplace. OSU extension works to help local residents and community leaders enhance and sustain the environment and natural areas throughout the state, balancing economic advancement with environmental sustainability.
