Facilitates the financing, refurbishment, construction and/or management of safe, decent and affordable housing in rural communities. Included may be generic and custom-build homes or other structures that are available to people who qualify on a rental, low cost purchase or mortgage free basis.

Offers affordable housing for home ownership for qualifying individuals.

Tasked to apply for grant monies only available to communities with land banks. Homeowners with vacant properties on either side of their owner-occupied home may purchase a Richland County Land Bank property as per the current pricing guidelines.

Provides affordable homeownership opportunities for qualified low-income families in Montgomery County and Greene and Clark County. Partner families invest hundreds of hours of their own labor into building their own houses and the houses of others, and they also attend homeownership classes. Families pay a down payment and a monthly mortgage payment, taxes and insurance to Habitat. Direct services include personal contact from staff and volunteers, home visits, one-on-one mentors, educational classes, sweat equity management, and ongoing communication and nurturing to ensure families' success as a mortgage-paying homeowner and self-sufficient citizen of the community.
