Opiates can include fentanyl, heroin, methadone, Percocet, Vicodin, and Oxycontin. Also has an opioid rescue box/opioid overdose emergency kit outside on the building that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Provide Pack N Play portable cribs and Safe Sleep Survival Kits to families and caregivers that are unable to provide a safe sleep environment due to financial hardship. Survival Kit contains a sheet for the Pack N Play, a sleep sack for the infant, a bedtime storybook and educational materials for the parents. Family must come to Board of Health office to pick up Pack N Play and receive instruction on proper assembly and use before taking Pack N Play home.

Provides a vending machine that contains Naloxone Hydrochloride (Narcan) medication to individuals at risk of opioid/opiate overdose and to their friends and family in an effort to reduce fatal overdoses. Also provides safer sex kits, Covid-19 home test kits, fentanyl test strips, first aid kits, and menstruation supplies.

Continuing to partner for Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided With Naloxone); an overdose prevention and education program. This program is for opioid users who are at risk of death from overdose, and family and friends of those who are at risk of death from overdose. Muskingum Behavioral Health will provide training and ZMCHD will distribute kits containing the life-saving medication.

HelpLink 211 Dayton

The Clean Needle exchange program provides sterile needles, syringes and other injection equipment for used needles to help combat blood-borne diseases such as hepatitis and HIV. Participants can exchange one clean needle for one dirty needle, up to 50 needles and will never leave with more needles than they bring in.
