The test strips are provided with a contact number for Shepherd Hill, the treatment center associated with Licking Memorial Hospital. Shepherd Hill offers a variety of services for individuals who are struggling with drug addiction.

C-Harm-Ed - County Harm Reduction Education | Washington County Health Department

C-HARM-ED is a place where people who are affected by drug use can go for information, to be tested for hepatitis and HIV, to be immunized against hepatitis A and B, to get information on recovery services, for referrals to medical services, and to exchange used syringes for new sterile ones. Anonymity is guaranteed by the program. People who come in to the walk-in sessions are not required to give their names or any other personal information. No one will be asked why they started using drugs or to volunteer any information they aren’t comfortable providing, and there are no charges.

Project Dawn Naloxone Distribution Program | Licking County Health Department

The Licking County Health Department is offering opioid overdose prevention training session and naloxone (Narcan) kits for individuals interested. There is a limited supply. The purpose of the training is first to educate opioid users, their family members or their friends on how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a drug overdose. Participants will also learn how to call emergency medical services, perform rescue breathing and administer naloxone (Narcan) nasally. When administered during an overdose, naloxone blocks the effects of opioids on the brain and quickly restores breathing. It has no potential for abuse.
