Group counseling will allow the client to share thoughts and feelings about recovery and ask questions and get feedback from Peer Recovery Supporters (sessions are led by a licensed counselor). Social Support and Case Management will help the client with housing, transportation, applying for food stamps, job training (especially helping and advocating for those with criminal backgrounds looking for jobs), child support, and signing up for and maintaining Medicaid. Recovery Support Group SMART Recovery is FREE and is held Tuesday evening. Support group help people learn self-empowering tools and members will provide support for each other in recovery. The goal of SMART Recovery is for you to achieve a healthy, positive and balanced lifestyle so you can conquer new challenges. Groups are held at the Knox County Community Health Center - Mount Vernon, Ohio location (Health Department) in the Conference Room on Tuesday evening at 6 pm. This group meets for about an hour and is open to anyone, no matter where they are at in their journey to recovery. There is no need to pre-register, and there is no fee to attend the support groups.
