Residential Withdrawal Management (Detox) is a medically supervised program designed to help individuals safely and comfortably stop using substances like drugs or alcohol that can cause withdrawal.
Provides a 16-bed, medically managed, inpatient detoxification facility for alcohol and benzodiazepines (which include: Xanax, Klonopin, Tranxene, Linrium, Valium, and Ativan).

Used as a harm-reduction model and evidence based treatment for patients who already suffer from opioid use disorder. Goals include: 1. A decrease symptoms of opioid use disorder (such as illicit opioid use) 2. Decreased mortality 3. Reductions in criminal activity. MAT is offered in conjunction with psychosocial supports, which may include: 1. Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse counseling ; 2. Psychotherapy ; 3. Referral to social services such as employment and education assistance. The APDS Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) curriculum is designed in four phases: • Phase One - Evaluation/Stabilization (Weekly: 3 days of IOP counseling, 1 individual session (non-group day), and medical visit to include UDS) • Phase Two – Education/Implementation (Weekly: 3 days of IOP counseling, 1 individual session (non-group day), and medical visit to include UDS) can change to 1 Individual every other week • Phase Three – Transition (Weekly: One (1) 90 minute IOP group counseling session, 1 individual session (non-group day), and medical visit to include UDS) • Phase Four - Maintenance (Bi-weekly: 1 individual session, required to meet Medical requirements while in maintenance phase, group attendance not required but may attend group for additional support when needed)

Provides an accredited addiction treatment program that offers a wide range of outpatient addiction treatment services to help eligible patients and their families, struggling with substance use and other addictive behaviors. All patients will be assessed and then a treatment plan will be created based on the patient's needs. Outpatient Detoxification is only offered at the W.O. Walker Building and is provided over three days (they go home each evening - patient must be accompanied by a driver). Intensive Outpatient Treatment is less intensive and is provided three days a week for six weeks (offered at W.O. Walker Building and at Westlake Location). Program focus is that addiction is a brain disease affecting physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning. Provides a high staff to patient ratio.

This is the most intensive level of care offered at Shepherd Hill. Medical and nursing staff members manage patients to stay consistent in this level of care around the clock to safely withdraw patients from drugs/alcohol. Detoxification services are provided on site. Patients receive 24 hour medical management.

Provides a short-term psychiatric/substance use disorder crisis stabilization program. Services can include assessment, medical evaluation, case management, counseling, medications, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), withdrawal management (detox), educational groups, referral and linkage to other community services. Program is designed to keep someone in a crisis from escalating into a possible arrest and possible involvement of the justice system. Staff work with the individual to stabilize the symptoms and connect or reconnect to ongoing care. Detoxification from drugs is offered if needed.
