Topics covered include: How to reach and stay in recovery; How to write an advance directive; Information about different diagnoses; How to deal with past and current problems.

Raises awareness of psychiatric and mental health disorders affecting the elderly. Focuses on public education targeted to the health care consumer and family caregiver about mental health promotion, prevention, and treatment.

Works to improve the public's understanding of mental health and mental illness and help people make choices which promote personal mental health, take advantage of opportunities for early detection, develop an awareness of available treatment options and support their ability to deal with mental health problems when they arise.

Educates middle and high school students about mental health, suicide, and its prevention through school-based programs, which connects at-risk youth to school-based mental health resources and empower/motivate them to reach out to a trusted adult and seek professional mental health services/support.

Provides an experiential learning program for people with any serious mental illness who are interested in establishing and maintaining their wellness and recovery. Consists of ten two-hour units and is taught by trained mentors and volunteers who are personally experienced at living well with mental illness. Participants leave course with handouts, and advance directive, a relapse prevention plan, mindfulness exercises and survival skills for working with providers and the general public.
